This is a long rant but I have to get it off my chest. When my mother got married she was only 20 and she listened to everything everyone told her to do. So I think she regrets not doing the things she wanted. When I started planning my wedding she kept suggesting things that I absolutely hate so I told her thanks for your suggestions but it's my wedding and I'm going to do teh things that I like. So now everytime I ask her about wedding stuff she gets all nasty and makes comments. For example I asked when can she go this month to shop for my gown Her response: You're making abig mistake! It's too early!!! I never said I was buying it, I just want to look. Just now I told her about the cameras for the table and the lists people give to take pictures her response: If you wan to waste your money like that go ahead, but I think it's dumb. When I ask why she says that, she says well because it's your wedding, I wouldn't want to interfere! It's really annoying and I do want her help but I just don't want her to turn it into her 'do-over' wedding. Sorry this is long but uggghhhh she's so annoying!!!!!!

I am constantly going through arguments with my mother, only if I try to explain to her that I don't want something or want to do it differently, she basically makes me out to be a spoiled brat. Hang in there!

I am sorry to hear what your going through. Look on the bright side she could be like my mother...she does not want to help me with anything, she would not even go with me for my gown, my FH's sister went with me.

Believe me I know what you are going through cause I'm going through a similar version of it myself! For now I'm just kinda keeping things to myself and I've learned that if my mother would like to accompany me when I want to go do things like look for a dress then I would love to have her come with me but I'm not going to let her spoil that day or any other day while I'm planning my wedding!
Just remember it's your day! Don't let anyone ruin it for you or make you choose things you don't like!

as you know - my mom thinks i am the most spoiled horrible bride in the entire universe. . . i think your mom is just jealous that you and sean get to plan without everyone's interference. . .
next time this happens please call me and THEN you can post on here - heck we live across the street from eachother and I feel like we communicate through LIW posts

awww jenn im sorry that she is giving you a hard time. maybe she is excited and wants to help plan but doesnt realize that you want it to be special to you with your own ideas. this feels just like my grandma...she suggested having a double wedding so that me and my brother could celebrate together....and she was serious and I had to break it to dear old grandma that its not gonna work that way...she will compare ideas to my cuzins wedding and tell me i should do this and that. now...i only talk to you girls and jesse about it.
there are always going to be suggestions but i am guessing you just have to understand that maybe it is just to help. and im not siding with your mom...bc I think you are completely right. it is ur wedding and you should plan it...
its early and i dont kno if this made sense hahaha

its so funny, mothers can be your best friend at times but they can also be your worst enemy. My mother makes me feel that I always need to have her approval before I can do something. Its ridiculous, she gives me that disapproving look and it makes me feel like whatever I am doing is wrong
