Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been trying for weeks to get a swatch of my dress from the manufacturer and they still haven't sent it to my bridal salon!!!
My bridal salon keeps calling them for me (Wedding Salon of Manhasset really is the best by the way!) and the company says they're having a hard time getting the fabric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really wanted my swatch so I can match my FG dresses, because I'm wearing ivory....ugh!!!!!!!!

That stinks. I had the same problem (though not at the same store), it took months for me to get a swatch- you would think it wouldn't be so difficult.

Hopefully it will get here soon!

I haven't even asked yet b/c I know it will be a hassle. My dress is ivory too. Is it important to get a swatch of my dress for my FG dress to match? Probably, right?

A swatch is also helpful when you go shoe shopping.

I think I want gold shoes :) so I don't think I'll need the swatch for that. BUT, I do kind of feel like I need a swatch of my dress, BM dresses, etc, but I need to be able to picture everything. Its driving me kind of crazy not to have all of this stuff in front of me, you know?

I feel the same way! I really wanted to have a swatch to take with me for FG dresses, and now with almost 5 months left...I'm probably just going to have to cross my fingers that the ivory FG dresses will match my dress!

That's what I was thinking! OR, just make sure she doesn't stand too close to you that day.

I'm having the same problem. I requested a swatch a week or two ago and haven't heard anything or gotten the swatch.

Re: Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do they have the dress in the store? Where I bought my dress they just cut a piece of fabric out of the inside of the sample dress. It was along the inner seam so it didn't ruin the dress at all.

The Wedding Salon is great, but why don't you try contacing the manufaturer yourself. I don't know the designer of your dress BUT Reem Acra, Amsale, Kenneth Pool all have flag ship salons maybe try them (obviously I mean contact the designer of your dress).

Eta - Why not contact the Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn or the new one in NYC?

Good question! I actually did contact Priscilla directly and they told me only your bridal salon can request it!
Also, I bought my dress at a trunk show...so there's not even a sample for me to see of it!!!!!
At this point, the dress will be here before the swatch...because the dress is scheduled to come in the first week of May!!!

IMO opinion, it is unacceptable that the Wedding Salon can't get a swatch for you. For the amount of money that you are paying, it's the very least they can do for you! Even if the dress comes in, I think you still need a swatch. How else are you going to match your dress to the FG dress?

Btw, where are you looking for FG dresses?

Re: Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally gave up bugging Lillette's for a swatch of my dress!! I was so tempted to just go and bring a pair of scissors with me and snip snip!

It was my POB gown that I bought at the POB store in Roslyn that it took 4 months for me to get...
