Ugh, a new Banquet Manager
It really sucks when they leave halfway through your process! The girl we built up a rapport with and signed with etc is gone. While I'm sure the new guy who just answered my email to her will be fine, it's just really annoying to have to deal with. Now I feel like we need to go down there and meet with him, etc. because I want to build some kind of personal connection there and not have some stranger as a contact.Sorry, I just got the email back and needed to vent a little. It's really not a huge deal (and at least it's now instead of a month before the wedding!)

I know the feeling. Even after a month you develop a repore with her. But let's look at the brighter side, rather it have happened now then right before your big day. It will be ok.

Ugh, a new Banquet Manager
Go meet with the new guy. Our original banquet manager left and I only found out after not hearing back for a few weeks and calling to see what the deal was. And not to scare you BUT at the meeting I found out that something we were promised and although on our contract it said one thing verbally we had a different conversation, we were told they have never and would never promise such and such...So again not to scare you but had I found out the day of that we were told wrong information (she said we both must've 'heard' wrong) as I was SUPER excited about this add on I would have been livid. Now just annoyed but not the end of the world...
Good luck

Oh man, thats terrible! We made sure that the little additions and caveats we discussed were added in writing in the contracts, just in case. I thought it was overkill, but now I'm glad we did!
I definitely want to go meet with this new guy, just to make sure we're on the same page, and I feel comfortable emailing him with any questions I have going forward.

No way!! They can't just renege on something that both parties agreed to and signed! Change of manager or not! If you have a copy of that contract I'm sure you could take them to court or something if they don't follow through with what they promised to. After all - that's the point of a contract!!
And killerqueen, I know what you mean with the change of management. It is annoying but the important thing is that no matter how many times management changes, they follow through with everything the previous managers said you would get. Management changed at my venue and as soon as thy contacted us, we made sure they agreed to everything the previous banquet manager said we would get (she threw in a lot of extras/freebies!). To go a step further, we printed out all the email conversations with the new manager of her agreeing to those things and had them sign it the same day we went in to sign their contract. We also made our own little contract which had a list of things they promised in the emails and they had to initial on each line. We don't play! lol We only did it as a precaution though. Nothing about these managers seemed shady in any way. They were really sweet about the whole thing and thought it was great that we were so well-informed and organized! :)
