ugh I am tired of hearing....

OK...well FH and I are having our e-party on June 15th from 7:30-11:30pm. Yes it is a Friday night.

So the thing is I keep hearing it from FFIL that ughh it is a work day and so early no one is going to want to travel...blah blah blah...

well the only reason we had to do it on a friday was because the place we are hvaing it at only had 2 Saturdays open in the month of June when FH is actually home! And both those Saturdays didnt work out for us- 1. it is FH bday and we are going to AC and the 2. i have a dance recital that i am helping out with

so....we HAD to do it on a friday if we wanted a night time party-which FH wanted!!

So why are people sooo annoying. Now I am sending out the invites this weekend- cause no OOT people are really invitied besides my uncle and he knows about it already. But I am nervous none of FH's family is going to come now cause of what FH is saying to well mostly me cause FH just blows him off haha

i have come to a conclusion in life and it is this: some people just love to complain, and will take every opportunity to do so.

trust me, i have had much experience with this from my family. for me, i don't have to deal with this from FH's family. they are so good, they never complain and they are just happy to do whatever. but MY family are such whiners, especially my grandmother. she crabbs about EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

you know what? everyone will have plenty of time to make arrangements to either take the day off or take a half day, or just come from work! it's really not a big deal. they love you and they will be there for you. some of them just derive joy in complaining about it.

brush it off and be happy...your e-party will be so much fun!

I hear ya with the booking of the e-party...I wanted to just hop on a plane and leave!
but dont worry...it will all work out in the end...I would come to a party on a Friday night!

thats what i figured everyone loves to go out after a long week of work- what better to go to a e-party on a friday night and drink awayhaha

I had my engagement party on a Friday night and everyone still came, don't worry

It's funny because none of FH's relatives that we invited live further away than Queens and they all own their own businesses haha so they can leave whenever they want seriously...but it starts at 7:30 most people get out of work at 5pm usually so they have 2 1/2 hours to get there which I felt is plenty of time even if they are a little late....

plus...my dad is the only one that really needs to leave work or take off....because he works in the city and usually never gets home before 7pm anyway so he said he is taking the day off...lol

ughh people- you are all right thank you for making me feel better!!!!! You girls are the best!!

ahhh dont pay attention...Look so many people even have weddings now on fridays...If they want to go they'll go if its that big of a deal for them then let them stay home.

Dont worry most people will just see it as ok so i have a party to attend friday and thats it, they wont make a big deal...its becoming alot more normal now

Yea im having my wedding on a Friday....and I was all nervous about it also...but i got over it., whoever wants to come will come.....I was asking around and many people think its great because it doesnt kill the entire weekend....and you have sat and sun to recoup

haha I like that idea.

yeah i was nervous cause if the price is better FH and I might have a Friday night wedding...we havent booked a hall yet...but I dont really want to hear FFIL complain about it for a whole year and just to me cause FH wont be around. I know we are already going to be having complaints from him when we book this June- cause we havent told anyone that we are moving it up from May of 09 to Sept of 08 haha

we want to wait until we book it so no one has any chance to change our minds plus FH will be home in June and I'd feel better if he was home when we told everyone!!

Do you know how many people would love to have an excuse to leave work early on a Friday??
I love Friday parties b/c i still have the whole weekend to recover.
Everyone is going to have something to say. My MOH told me that b/c my wedding is on a Sunday night, no one is going to drink and everyone is going to leave early to go to work. I just laughed.

Oh yes I say the same thing!

My parents are helping with the RH though but my mother was upset I'm having it on a sunday night rather than a sat. Well my MOH will be in a weekend school program and the sat. night is actually inconvenient for her! I know this because that's the school program I'm in now. She'd have to run home and shower and change out of scrubs to get ready!

Besides sunday is $20 cheaper... hmmm... do I really have to think about this one?

And every idea I have and mention I know she doesn't like because she says 'Well you still have time to look around.'

Out of everything wedding related, the date is the most personal choice you too can make. I don't know why anyone would feel as if they have a right to influence this. With exceptions of course... an accountant getting married during tax season for example.

ETA: If anyone complains tell them the date is currently open for May '09 and if they want they can have it and then smile real big!

yeah i hear from people all the time about what I should do, I get annoyed when this happens and will just yell, hmmmm maybe thats why it doesnt happen often and people dont really tell me all that much what i should do, except my dad and were both the type to scream instead of having a conversation so thats what ends up happening lol

I just hate having FFIL tell me what he thinks about everything...and I just sit back and take it and say yeah ok sorry...haha but I know when FH comes home in June and we start planning everything it wont be like that cause he just tells his parents to pretty much F$@! off if they dont like it...yeah he is sometimes rude to his parents about things that he wants to do because he does not like being told NO!! haha

so it will be easier when FH is home because he will actually open his mouth and tell his parents he doesnt care what they ahve to say cause we are the ones paying for everything!!!!!!!!!
