UGH! I failed the 1 hour glucose test

So I failed the 1 hour glucose test with a score of 177. Now I have to get the 3 hour test done. Would you ladies suggest DH going with me (I've read that sometimes you may feel lightheaded - dizzy) or is something I can deal with myself??

I had GD. I took my DH with me for the 3 hour test mainly because I figured why should I sit there hungry all by myself when this is his baby too. He couldn't eat until I did But you can get dizzy so you should not go alone. And bring a book with and a snack to eat the minute that the test is over with. I also had my water bottle. FM me if you need help with GD.

I just took the 3hour test last week. I went alone and actually it was not that bad. However about 10 mins before they drew the last blood I started to get a little shakey.. I would recommend packing yourself something to eat as soon as you are finished with the test. I sat in my car and ate before I drove off. Good luck!!! and bring a few books or magazines!!!

Danielle, usually around the 26 - 28 week mark they do the 1 hour glucose test.

Not only did I take DH w/me, the lab TOLD me to bring him because I almost passed out the first time!! And I almost passed out again the second time - needless to say, I had GD!!!

Good luck with the 3 hour!!!

I highly recommend that you bring someone. I brought my mom and it was a good thing I did. I got very shakey and almost passed out in the deli we went in after the test. Please bring someone with you just to be safe or at least bring a sandwich to eat right after the test. Good luck!

I too failed the one hour test, I had 139 and it had to be below 135. I went for the three hour test and DH came for half the time. I think he would have drove me crazy for the whole time. I felt it was important for him to be part of these things and he did not mind. I was not shaky, just hungry. I even went next door and had my nails done while I waited for the last hour. I passed the 3 hour, thankfully. Good luck and bring DH for the support and to keep you company.
