Ugh! MILs!!

So we just got back last night from a glorious 4 1/2-day stint with various members of the fam - 3 1/2 with Mum in Surrey, 1 1/2 with Dad in Brighton...My MIL can be so nice some times and so darned ridiculous and overbearing others!!! I made a ton of cookies to take to her house - she was having guests on Christmas day and I thought people would eat them for dessert along with whatever else was made. When I first gave them to her she said Oh, lovely. Then she asked me if we could put them somewhere else (ie garage or spare room) because they were 'in the way'. No one ate very at dessert, everyone was just stuffed because they had eaten all day long. Cookies made an appearance again at dessert on Boxing Day (day after Christmas holiday in Britain). again everyone was stuffed and no one ate very many. So, Monday morning DH and I are going to leave Mum's and go straight to Dad's (they've been divorced since Dh was about a year old). MIL asks me if I wanted to take some cookies with me, I say yes. Now, I had made three different kinds of cookies, there were easily 6 or 7 dozen...she puts about 15-20 in some foil for me to take with me and says There that should be enough! I wasn't going to argue with her, but it totally pissed me off! It was so obvious she just didn't want me to take them to his Dad's. There was no way she was going to eat them herself - she hardly ate any over three days. She made some lame excuse about the neighbor kids dropping by or something like that.

It's just very sad that a 60 year old woman would be so petty and so transparent about it too! Sorry, had to vent!

maybe she wanted to build tiny forts out of them and couldn't spare any?
