So, just when I think I have my dress picked and I'm jumping for joy, I bring my mom to see it. Note: my mom does NOT like lifts on the front of a dress AND she envisions me in a Princess tulled-out dress that just DOES NOT look good on me.
So, of course, this dress has lifts in the front. The NICE thing about them, which my mom agrees, is that since the dress isn't made of silk or satin, the lifts are light looking and are held up by beading, which gives it a nice touch. My mom LOVES the corset and the train (she's in LOVE with the train in fact) but I can tell that she's not crazy about the bottom/front of the dress. I didn't get the feeling I was hoping from her. So, should I order it and go with my feelings or look some more since I have time? I found one other dress I liked, but don't really remember how it looks on since I didn't get any pics. Should I go back and try it on?
Did anybody else's mom do this to them? What did you do? TIA

Re: Ugh, need advice girls.
i think you should go shopping with her again and try on all three dresses (and maybe a few others) maybe when she sees how happy u are in the one you love she will understand, or if you say that the toole doesnt look as good, maybe she can see for herself

I may shop around still, because you still have a lot of time..but if you keep thinking about the other dress, it may be your dream dress..i would go with what you like and see yourself getting married in..regardless of other opinions..

Re: Ugh, need advice girls.
I had the same exact issue when I brought my mom to see my dress! I ended up putting a deposit on the dress she and the saleslady loved...and I went back 2 days later and tried on the one I loved without her, and I ended up going with the one I loved! I was torn up about it all weekend, but I knew if I didn't order the one I wanted I wouldn't be following my heart!
Do what you want...it is YOUR day...and she will think you look beautiful no matter what dress you choose!!
Good luck!!

Get whatever makes you happy!!!
But I do know how your mom's disapproval could make you second guess.
Since you have a full year, go to a few more stores and maybe you will find something even better. If not, and you keep going back to the original dress, you will know it is right for you.

A lot of girls are going to tell you to buy what you like but obviously your mom's feelings matter to you.
I say shop around since you still have time and if you constantly compare all other dresses you try on to this one, you know it should be yours regardless of what mom thinks...
I agree. If your mom's opinion means something to you, then keep looking.
