Well, as if getting out of bed on this disgusting rainy day and hauling myself into work wasn't bad enough....I was pickpocketed this morning on the downtown 4 train.
LUCKILY it was only for my work ID and 30 day Metrocard- I keep those separate in my coat. Times are tough and people are desperate I guess...watch yourselves ladies.
I have to file and Incident Report at work for my ID now...ugh, hate paperwork.
wow good thing that was all it was...although that doesnt make it any more horrifying

thank god that is all they took. and that you were ok. that is so scary. especially knowing that a lot of my friends are undercover cops riding the trains. i am sorry.

Unreal! Everytime i go into the city or go on the train i use a wristlet, but those small ones so its in my hand or up my sleeve the whole time

The best thing about this is think about how pissed the pickpocket is going to be when he sees he didn't get any cash or credit cards.
Thieves- the lowest of the low. I can't stand the whole 'I don't have to work, I'll just take what I want from the people who do' attitude.

You know, it was the typical squeeze into the car, people smushed and a small argument. I watched my backpack but did not have my hands to my sides as I was holding on.

I'm so sorry to hear your day started off like that. Thank God it wasn't anything too major that they got. My purse was stolen out of my car in feb and it was bad - smashed my window - ran up my credit cards. Glad that you're okay. It makes you feel unsafe and violated after something like that happens.

That's terrible!! I had a man 'rub himself' on me on the 5 train going to work a few weeks ago and since then I now take the bus.. Some people have no shame!! I am so sorry that happened to you but I am really glad that was all they got!

OMG that's horrible, I know exactly how you feel. I had my purse snatched from my hands one day in broad daylight and I had just left the bank and had $1000 in my wallet, I ran after the guy screaming and thankfully 3 guys chased him for me and got my bag back --- it's so violating!!!

The 4 train is the WORST!!!!. my friend and i were just talking about that yesterday.... I take the 1 and its bad but the 4 train takes the cake.. i am so sorry this happened to you!!!

You girls are all so sweet. I'm feeling ok, grateful that I separate my belongings.
I am a lifelong NYC girl and did not feel a thing! It was in my coat pocket....I think with the pushing, the distraction and my ipod I was just not paying close enough attention- but these people are pros.
I'm so sorry to hear about the purse snatching. That's SO horrible. Low lifes. Glad you got your purse back!
