UGH!! - UPDATED (after mini stress attack) updated 11/16/10

So FH and I just came from JT and they gave us an AMAZING price for January 15, 2012 (a year from tomorrow). FH and I are way excited and want to bring my dad there tomorrow. I tell my brother and he like I'i dont think it enough time' For your fitting, money and etc. He totally popped my bubble and I ential pop FH bubble. I feel horrible and confused. What should I do? Is it realistic to have a wedding in a year ???? being I have to get my dress, vendors and etc???

So after having a mini stress attack last night after my brother lack of confidence. I have decide (not even FH beause he like where do I sign at JT) we are going to WM, Terrance on the Park in queens and Douglaston Manor to see pricing for Like March next year and if we dont like what they offer, I am making an exuective decision and booking JT.

UPDATED 1/16/11:
FH and I went to two halls yesterdday and nothing could compare to what JT was offering /giving us. BUT we are going to book for March since both our grandparents are OOT and we dont want to chance not having them there.
its 10 dollars more but I feel I could talk the BM down to 5 more or if not add my stuff. I am bringing my Father and he good!. He deals with these people like he buying a car !!!

Wish us LUCK

Re: UGH!!

Totally doable!!!!! We planned ours in 13 months!
Booking vendors is the big thing, and with a January wedding you can almost guarantee that any vendor you want will be available!

Not to mention you get way better prices for winter weddings because it's not 'Wedding Season'

Don't worry about your dress, most places will be able to get a dress in 3 months or less. You will be totally fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely doable! I got engaged on 9/11/10 and am getting married 9/17/11. I just booked my photographer/videographer like 2 days ago and am going for dresses tomorrow. The venue is the one thing that I did book like a week after we got engaged. Good luck you can do it!!

a year is plenty of time. i did it all in a year and a month, and everything worked out just fine!!!!! honestly if you dont make a date now you guys are just gunna keep pushing it off longer and longer!

as for money, you guys have been saving since before now right? just keep up what your doing and you will be fine!!!!!!! as for dress and vendors, i did all that under the year mark. everything will work out.

Crashing! You def have enough time! I feel like back in the day it was wayyy harder to plan but now w/ the internet you don't need to see every vendor in person to narrow down your list! Make your budget, call and get estimates, and go from there! Good luck

Re: UGH!!

it is completely doable. My MOH was engaged for 2 years and didn't do anything WR until 11 months before the wedding and she got everything done in time.

Re: UGH!!

Absolutely you can! We're doing it in 15 months and that felt like almost too much time. Well, I guess there's never really too much time when planning a wedding but we did everything super early. so, in short, lol, yes, you totally can do it!!! I think that's the perfect amount of time.

You have plenty of time. We just signed for October 2011. It kind of gives you a kick in the butt to get going and book everything, but definitely doable!!
