UGH!! - UPDATED (after mini stress attack) updated 11/16/10

Original post by Kuklitsa143

So FH and I just came from JT and they gave us an AMAZING price for January 15, 2012 (a year from tomorrow). FH and I are way excited and want to bring my dad there tomorrow. I tell my brother and he like I'i dont think it enough time' For your fitting, money and etc. He totally popped my bubble and I ential pop FH bubble. I feel horrible and confused. What should I do? Is it realistic to have a wedding in a year ???? being I have to get my dress, vendors and etc???

So after having a mini stress attack last night after my brother lack of confidence. I have decide (not even FH beause he like where do I sign at JT) we are going to WM, Terrance on the Park in queens and Douglaston Manor to see pricing for Like March next year and if we dont like what they offer, I am making an exuective decision and booking JT.

UPDATED 1/16/11:
FH and I went to two halls yesterdday and nothing could compare to what JT was offering /giving us. BUT we are going to book for March since both our grandparents are OOT and we dont want to chance not having them there.
its 10 dollars more but I feel I could talk the BM down to 5 more or if not add my stuff. I am bringing my Father and he good!. He deals with these people like he buying a car !!!

Wish us LUCK

My wedding being planned in a year and my friend pulled her off in 4 months. You have to figure out your budget an ability to do it

You totally can plan a wedding in a year!! And if you any advice you know all us LIW brides will help. Go get the pricing from the other vendors and if your STILL In love with the JT for Jan then do Jan! Just talk it over with FH about your fiances and if 2-3 month difference will make or break the bank...

think of it this way:

your getting a great deal for January

if you push back a few months you wont get that deal and it will be more $$

so you push off the date to save money for a couple months when, if you took the earlier date you wouldnt be paying as much to begin with.

a year is MORE than enough time. just work out strict budget and payment plans with all your vendors.

i think its doable

it really depends on your finances...the one year mark is plenty of time to book things...but do you have enough time to save? thats a personal question

you need to sit with FH and figure out what you can realistically set aside each month and see if youll have enough

is march, 3 months more going to bring in that much more money?

aww mich! im sorry. but you should definitely have enough time. people plan weddings in 6 months. i have seen it done, we were going to do it in 6 months, but money was a factor. that being said... do you have enough $$ saved/can you save enough money in a year to do it. thats something only you and jordan know. so is it doable time wise - yes, moneywise - thats only something you know.

if you dont like the other places, are you booking JT for January or later on? honestly, if you like the other places adn want March, that is really only giving you an extra 2 months. thats not much 'extra' time to save etc.

jsut trying to give you a different view
HTH feel better hun!

No way, you can totally do it! A yr is fine. My cousin did hers in 4 months...yes things will be alil more hectic but you can totally do it, esp in a yr! If thats when you want it, then thats when you should book it, dont let anyone stop you!

Totally Possible!! I got engaged 11/24/10, & my date is 9/2/11. That's only 8 months and a few weeks! These Liwedding girls will help with any ?'s. I didnt know the first thing about wedding planning, and I seem to be doing just fine.
Your way ahead of the game.
