Ugh vent..update

Now I understand why people say don't mix friends with business. All this week I was so excited for engagement pictures. We went out and got new outfits, props, everything you can think of just for our friend (who just started her own photography business) to cancel and say she would rather do it next Sunday. I kept telling her how today works better for us and how its saying next week is supposed to be rainy/cloudy but she keeps insisting and saying how she hasn't seen her husband or kids in 15 days because shes been so busy. We had these pictures scheduled for quite some time now and I was ridiculous excited just to be let down. Sorry I just had to vent ugh :(

Ugh that stinks... I'm sorry you're dealing with this. And today is such a gorgeous day too. She's definitely being unreasonable, I mean it's sad she hasn't seen her family, but an engagement session takes an hour and a half TOPS. She should be able to take two hours out of her day for you, especially being a friend. Maybe put the time in perspective for her, and see if she'll change her mind.

Today really is such a gorgeous day! I feel so terrible and agree she is not being reasonable. I hope everything works out, Im sure next weekend will turn out fantastic too!

Although sucky, it's probably better to see how her professionalism is now rather then day of the wedding. Maybe you should let this be a sign as to what's to come in the future and look around for photographers...

Ughh that happened to me except we were all ready and dressed waiting at old westbury gardens and our photographer cancelled! And he is a well known photographer I was so upset I really want to fire his company but I don't know how to go about it just yet... I hope they show up to my wedding if I decide to keep them... I feel ya girl it's annoying as heck!

Thankfully we aren't using her for the wedding! She kept begging us saying how she wants to do it but I told her we already got someone (which we havent yet LOL but now I'm glad I said that) I'm trying to keep positive thoughts and hopefully it will be a beautiful day and the leaves will be even more colorful than they were yesterday! I'll keep you ladies posted on how it goes!

Heres my update!

Around 3 this afternoon FH (who is a die hard patriots fan) said we can take the pictures at like 4 because they are winning and the place we wanna take pictures closes at 5, keep in mind it was already planned for 4:30 so i figured a half hour wouldn't make too much of a difference. Well I wrote her at 3 and told her that. Then I didn't hear from her but figured she might be in another session or driving so I didn't want to interrupt her. An hour later while I am completely ready with my hair, makeup, outfit, etc she wrote me back saying she was at a birth shoot and didn't hear from me so she assumed we weren't doing it! I told her that I didn't know I had to confirm when we agreed to it only a week ago! I am so unbelievably furious but now I'll just get them next fall with whoever our wedding photographer ends up being :( GRRR

That is a major bummer :( but at least you learned well enough in advance that you need a photog. Good luck on your search!!

Ugh! That sucks! I hope you didn't pay to have your hair and makeup done. I'd be so pissed I'd probably never talk to her again. How unprofessional. You're making the right decision to wait and do it with whoever your photographer ends up being. So sorry you had to deal with this!

Thankfully I didn't pay to get anything done but I was going to originally! FH and I already said that we will NOT be talking to them anymore and removed her and her husband (which happens to be FH's childhood friend) off the guest list. I'm just happy that it happened now when we still have plenty of time!
