ok, so my fh's old family friend whom he grew up with but barely speaks to nemore called when she discovered we got married and asked 'am i going to be in the wedding?' Ballsy! Well, he said i dont think so im sorry theres really just no room. FIL got offended bc she is still close with her parents so she insisted that we put his 'friend' as a groomsperson! Im sorry to anyone who is having a member of the opposite sex on the wrong side but that just is not ok with me. FH even said absolutely not. Well we need to find something for her to do so i came up with the idea of perhaps her getting ordained and being the officiant at the wedding. A. it will save me money on a real officiant and B. it will give her a major role in the wedding that does not interfere with my bridal party... Ok so what do you girls think?? Its 2 1/2 years away and we wouldnt ask her for atleast another 6 months, we would pay for the classes and the certificate. Do you think this will keep her happy?
ughhhh im so frustrated alreadyyyyyy any opinions would help!
update: ok so i talked to FH just not when he got home from work and of course he says 'it up to you do what you feel is best its our weddinggg' so nice but so not helpful haha. I think im going to leave it alone for like 6 months and rethink the situation then?

Or you could just make her a reader or have her hand out programs/bubbles for the wedding

Re: ughhh already... need opinions...
it's a good idea but make sure that she doesn't have any hurt feels and if she does make sure she isn't a spiteful person. Yes she is having a major role in the wedding.. but she's having a major role in your wedding lol.

I think it's a good idea...but do you really want it that way?? It's such a major role...maybe have her do something else like was suggested is a better idea

thats soo annoying.....if you don't want her in the wedding party don't put her in......she'll has to get over it. if you want you could also have her do a reading during the ceremony???

I think this is a better idea. Besides, if FH doesn't really talk to her anymore, why is it necessary for her to be involved????? Who cares if FH's parents still talk to her parents?????

Re: ughhh already... need opinions...
i cant make her a reader bc we are having a non denominational quick ceremony before. I def. wont make her a bm bc i dont hold her close to me. Im sooo frustrated bc this is supposed to be MY day and i said that she could sit in the front but she doesnt want to help with the wedding she just thinks shes supposed to be in it. IDK what to dooo haha Thank god i have so long to think about this....

Re: ughhh already... need opinions...
Has FH talked to his mother about this? Has he explained why she's NOT an immediate concern to be part of the wedding?

yes he talked to her and she was open to give her another job but unfort we arent having a church ceremony so theres no readings. I was actually thinking that we could make her 'unofficial photographer'. She loves photography and i thought that while i will have a professional photog that she could walk around with her camera and get some shots that could be posted right away while we wait for the other pics
