UGH...The Leg Cramps

make them stop.... please

I have woken up every night this week from what feels like a charlie horse in both legs at the same time. This after I finally fall asleep while trying to get rid of the 'pukey feeling' that sits in my throat.

When does it get better?

okay - vent over

You might need more Calcium. Usually when your body is low on Calcium in pregnancy, you get leg cramps. Also, you'll love this, drinks lots of water!

btw, I wish I could tell you it gets better, but I am starting to realize that it doesn't get any better towards the end!

Re: UGH...The Leg Cramps

I get those leg cramps once in a while when I wake up in the morning. I hate those.
I also get that pukey in the mouth feeling but its usually later in the day. I thought it was just happening to me. What causes that?

REFLUX!

I had it SO bad the last 2 weeks that I could eat nothing but toast, chicken soup, scrambled eggs and rice.

Ohhh...Heather-that bites!!!!
I get a lot of leg cramps too-I always make sure to keep my legs nice and toasty, although I'm not sure this will help for your situation!
I hope this stops soon!!!! And once it does-may you have nothing but the most peaceful of sleeps!!!

JennRenee: Does that mean baby doesn't like what we ate? Or is it just something that happens during pregnancy? Is it because baby has a lot of hair?(Yeah, the last one is a myth, right?)

Re: UGH...The Leg Cramps

Sue, I had A LOT of heartburn and the cub was very hairy when she was born!!! She still has hair on her ears!! At least the unibrow went away!!!

Re: UGH...The Leg Cramps

Well, if the baby is hairy, they certainly didn't get it from me. I think I was bald for several months.
Hubby's got a good head of hair even though you can't tell because he keeps it super short.
We shall see in 3 months.
Edited to add: I don't have heartburn, I just feel like I'm going to puke but it stays inside my mouth. Sorry for so much info.

Sue -- never TMI!! We've all been through it (or will be going through it)!!! Besides, if you can't share TMI here, where can you share it???

This is what happens as the baby gets bigger and pushes your organs around. Reflux has something to do with the esophagus, specifically, but I can't remember exactly what.

Certain foods make it worse, especially things that are high in acid.
Try to stay away from orange juice (unless it's low acid) and marinara sauce. Those were my WORST enemies!

FTR, Nicolas WAS born with a lot of hair...

Re: UGH...The Leg Cramps

I get bad heartburn/reflux too! It's because of all those hormones circulating in your body, it relaxes the spincter muscle and it cause it to come back up the esophagus. 2 Tums before I go to bed a a lifesaver!

No heartburn for me. Thank goodness, I don't think that anyone should have to deal with a unibrow like my husband's! j/k

Re: UGH...The Leg Cramps

I had them also, almost everynight for about 6 weeks-then the nosebleeds started. I can remember getting up & walking on the cold tile floor was the only thing that helped
You'll feel better soon!!

Re: UGH...The Leg Cramps

The one time I did puke in my second trimester was because of sauce. I still don't like to have much sauce because it makes me feel like puking.

RE: the leg cramps - I was told to eat a banana every day and it helps with the leg cramps. I believe it. I never had any

RE: the acid reflux. Dont eat too late! As I got bigger with Lukie, I couldnt eat any later than 6 or 7pm. Ask your OB if you can use Pepcid Complete. I had horrid heartburn with Luke and Pepcid Complete was like a wonder pill, just one helped tremendously.

BTW, he had tons of black hair so the old wives tale was true in our case.

Hope you feel better soon
