I agree!! I am not a reality TV show fan. I have watched a few (Joe Millionaire, AI, The Simple Life and one Temptation Island) and the only one I really like is AI.

And this is one of the main reasons there is so much reality tv - people watch.
If people stopped watching, I am sure they would eventually go away and dare I say it, be replaced with original programming with good writing & acting.

No I don't see that happening. I think the sad thing is that reality tv is the future....I think people were starting to run out of ideas with shows and now that Reality tv is thriving....all the networks want to get in on it.

Re: Ultimate love test
It's because they are cheap to produce AND people watch.
Think about the types of programs that used to be on:
Night time Soap Operas - you tripped over Dynasty, Dallas, Knots Landing, Falcon's Crest, etc.
Then Sitcoms - Cosby, Cheers, Whos the boss, Blossom, etc.
News programs - Dateline, 20/20 & 48 hours - one of them was on every night, sometimes more.
Now it's reality shows. Viewers will get tired of it and something else will spring up. Once people stop watching, the advertisers will stop paying and then the networks/tv people will come up with something elst.

I could not agree more.

Re: Ultimate love test
I think they just bring out, make examples of, and in some cases, reward what is worst in human nature. They are right in line with Jerry Springer in my book.

Re: Ultimate love test
this is 100% awful.. if you have to put your FH/FW to a 'test'.. then bloody well.. don't get married.. it's that easy. The show is pointless and all for voyeuristic purposes.

Re: Ultimate love test
So who do you think will stay together, and who do you think wont?
The couple from queens is doomed...Big Daddy is defanitely going to cheat, and the girl with the short hair that is hanging out with her ex boyfriend is probably going to get back with him....
Im sure most of them will cheat, if not all of them...

Re: Ultimate love test
Yeah..big daddy is going to cheat...and I think the guy who SWEARS he wont, ( the one who already cheated in the past) they all may cheat, they are all in messed up situations...but they put themslevs there. I dont think the girl from Vermont will cheat, she may second guess things, but I dont think she'll cheat.

Re: Ultimate love test
I liked my sick addiction to reality TV...My problem is that I cant get into normal tv shows because they are not reality based and I see through all the constructed plot lines...although I see right through the reality shows as well, I think it interests me more to see real people...whther they are in dumb situations doing dumb things then actors reading a script....
I watch maybe one normal tv show( ER) and like others watch ALL the reality shows...and thats what I say to people who make fun of me...at least ( dumb as I admit they are) its real people versus getting caught up in fake plots that would never happen...
