Ultrascreen results question

So I went for the ultrascreen last week. My doctor called and said that according to the lab report everything came back normal. However, while the test for the Trisomy 18 came back normal the number is kind of close to being abnormal. He said that the risk of there being something wrong is less than 1/2 a percent. He said its really not a reason for concern. That he wouldn't even recommend an amnio but that if we wanted we could meet with a genetic counselor. DH and my mother both say that he is just telling us that to cover his butt god forbid there is something wrong. My question is do you think I should worry? Thanks.

Re: Ultrascreen results question

Personally I would not go any further with testing withlLess than a .5% chance and you were only sorta close ...I wouldn't worry. BUT that is easier said than done. Maybe have the test redone?
If you need your mind put at ease then go for further testing. If you can live with a 'everything is just fine' line from all of us then don't.

Re: Ultrascreen results question

Thank you ladies. I'm 28 years old with no family history of anything like that. I initially was worried but everyone keeps saying that the test did return normal. Thank you again though you have helped to reassure me even more.
