I emailed a bunch of caterers to get quotes for my friends wedding that Im planning, and here is a response I just got. I found it VERY weird and unneccessary!
Gina, I'm afraid I no longer do Weddings of that size. I am also reluctant to quote numbers for 2009 before our next President is elected. Thanks for thinking of me, Evalin.

Maybe they are planning on moving out of the country depending on who wins!?! That is probably the most obscure excuse I have ever heard! But I am totally going to use it!
