I emailed a bunch of caterers to get quotes for my friends wedding that Im planning, and here is a response I just got. I found it VERY weird and unneccessary!
Gina, I'm afraid I no longer do Weddings of that size. I am also reluctant to quote numbers for 2009 before our next President is elected. Thanks for thinking of me, Evalin.

I am assuming it has something to do with the economy and she thinks that when she knows who the president is, she'll have a handle on what type of economy we'll have ... which I can't see as being something you could really know. It's an unprofessional comment.
PLUS, if she is doing weddings at all, isn't she working on ANY 2009 weddings? I mean, it's 7 months away. There's got to be someone she's working with that is getting married after December ...
