Re: ummmm...
Brides make up a basket with slippers so that when girls get tired of their heels they can grab those to put on. I would guess they put it in the bathroom but I'm not sure.

Are these little extra things like a long island thing? Before this site, I never heard of slipper baskets or I Do letters, cry packets, etc
Honestly, I dont plan on doing anything extra... I admit... I am a cheap *** and would prefer to save the $$ for something better

Re: ummmm...
I have no prob paying extra for great photogs, great dj/band, a reception hall with great food, paying for extra food... These are the things people rem about weddings...
Not what your invitations looked like, not what your favors or placecards looked like... not what your centerpieces looked like... slipper baskets, cry packets, i do letters, out of town gift bags...
I almost have to laugh at half the crap that people are willing to spend $$$ on ... No offense to anyone doing these things, of course... Everyone has a difference of opinion
Your guests will remember how the wedding made me feel... Were they up dancing? Where they having a good time? Was there plenty of food? Was the food good? Was there an open bar with premium liquor?

yea, i totally agree. we're paying for the wedding ourselves and we're definately on a budget so i would much rather spend the money on something more important like food and photographers, etc, than something that no one will even notice is missing. no slipper baskets or cry packs for me, lol. nothing wrong with having extras like that though, if i had tons of $$ i'm sure i would splurge on all thoses extras, lol.

I completely agree... however... i feel that if the money is there, it wouldnt hurt to make your guests as comfortable as they can be while dancing to the great music...after they've had their fill of the premium liquor, of course. lol.
for me, it all depends if theres extra money once the important stuff is all taken care of. to each her own.

Re: ummmm...
before you do that... you should go into queens and get the chinese slippers at $2 each pair.
you can get them in ANY color AND they dont have that 'thong' feeling between the toes.
that's what i think i'm going to do... like the last time i visit NY before the wedding i'd pick up a whole bunch of them ... how expensive could it possibly be? its not like youre getting a pair for EVERY guest... im sure the guys wont want them... lol

I don't plan on doing slipper baskets either. I told my aunt I didn't want to do bathroom baskets and she already said she wants to do them for me. Maybe I should tell her that I'm not having a wedding and she'll offer to pay for it. lol
