I feel badly if Sandra didn't know they were going to make them appear that way but with a title like 'My Big Friggin' Wedding' I don't know what else she thought would have been portrayed?

Re: ummmm... a little popcorn?

Hi Girls,

I think I should clarify what happened so this way I stop getting hate fm's and help put some truth behind it.

I spoke to several of the girls here, and I think its time that I settle this once and for all. After all, we have all been on the boards here for about 2 years and I think that I kinda owe everyone an explaination. Joe is here also so we can clear up things together.

When we signed originally, the show was under a different concept. It changed concept along the way and thats fine... that happens.

The episode on Monday was entirely CHOPPED up. So lets run down that day...

I was fully aware that I would be cooking that day, as it was discussed the day before. However, I was under the assumption that the cameras would have given me at least an hour to unwind from my job. They didn't and the minute I got home, they put a mic on me and told me to go to the kitchen.

I don't broil EVER. I personally think the broiler in that house is busted and that was not the first time its put steaks on fire. So the fire was real. Joe and I bicker like everyone else... HOWEVER and I stress this because THE WAY THINGS WERE PROTRAYED WAS DONE IN A WAY THAT WAS NOT FAIR, Joe does not TALK TO ME LIKE THAT. HE IS NOT ABUSIVE AND HE WAS MADE TO BE THE VILLIAN on the show. In fact, there was a ton of laughing, joking and smiling done that day. We were edited to look like ********> and I'm sorry if it looked like it was worse than what it was.

When Joe says 'You wanted this' he was referring to COOKING ON CAMERA> Not to the wedding. And of course you wouldn't see that because they edited the **** out it to make it worse and drama filled. You girls know me and my relationship pretty well. Those that met Joe know he is no way like a royal prick. So the kitchen scene was real. AS for me quiting, Joe and I had to kind of reenact that a little for camera. Joe and I spoke about me leaving for a while and it happened and the cameras needed some explanation behind why I left my job. So therefore you get Joey's 'reaction' and I think he deserves an academy award.

My husband loves me a lot and he went as far as firing back at a blogger who bashed and even called him abusive. My husband never hit me, belittled me or hurt me. In fact, he treats me pretty good. He's the most caring guy out there. But its his dynamic that made editors target him to be the 'jerk-off' on the show. Trust me I think I'm smart enough to leave a relationship that isn't healthy.

If you wanna read his blog go to www.facebook.com/joeyandsandra. It explains what happened and how UPSET he was. You have no idea how much this is troubling us. We thought we were doing a fun reality show. In the end, its DRAMA because Drama sells.

I knew that telling everyone about the show that opinions were to be made. And u wanna know something I'm cool with it. Whatever I have opinions too. Trust me I'm not offended. Those that know us know the truth. I asked for your opinions because true liweddings brides, the ones who are on here everyday, actually have valuable insight. Than you get these girls who make up phony names and want to put their 2 sense in and to me its being a coward.
sorry I had to say it because theres about 3 PHONIES out there that are to afraid to say their peace like everyone else and need to hide behind a fake name.

So please I am sharing this with you because you all are my Liweddings friends... my husband and I want you to knonw that we are in love and happy and fine. And its ok, I'm not mad at any of you.

I mean hello you guys poo'd on how many of my out there ideas and I wasn't insulted. I actually really value your opinions.

Please don't hate Joe. He really is pissed at the show and for what they did to him. If you didn't meet him, and want to let me know. You'll see he's really a great guy and nothing like the guy you saw on TV.

And if you have a real concern, fm me and tell me. I hate gossip and whatever it is what it is.

Please guys. Like I said, I'm not stupid and I won't stay with an abusive man EVER. And not to mention I really love him and he really loves me.

I hope this clarifies the situation. I'm sorry if you judge us and the judgement still stands. But hey, its TV.

Thanks Girls...

EH, What am I gonna do.... that post on BHB is going to be same post but about someone else next week. Whatever, like I said they have their opinions, but all I can hope for is that they get their facts straight about someone before they fully judge them.

Awesome attitude...just out of curiosity, what was the original concept?

It was to show the truth behind wedding planning.. because as we know... planning is nothing like what we already see on TV. We actually went to all of our vendors and stuff. Than the new title happened. And it was tentative... than solid... and I buckled my seat belt because I knew that this was going to be a bumpy ride.

Ugh that really stinks. I'm sorry that happened to you guys....the good thing is you know the truth and that's all that matters! I've never watched the show and I'm sorry it is making you guys out to be something your not. From seeing you on the boards you seem lovely. Don't sweat it!

Re: ummmm... a little popcorn?

I mean you still will see us plan our wedding and hopefully see the AWESOME details, but I think its more soap operay now than how it was suppose to be. And btw, the cast is really cool in person. We all have this amazing spirit, and I hope none of them lose any of it.

Oh and one more thing... I am not promoting this show on here. Some people seem to think so and its not fair or nice... these girls are my friends and I shared some info with them about my life. Just like everyone else. If you have noticed I still post about everything else still. Like my amazing Christmas gift I got my parents and wedding related stuff. I just shared something because I was excited.

Which reminds me... I saw one of you post about Dogs who eat poop... my sheeba enu does that and its gross... she's 6. The vet said to put meat tenderizer in the food and they stop.... makes me sick.

Hi Sandra,

I commend you on your honest to want to be out in the open with everything, and as you have read with all these threads we are just judging based on show, not on the person.

Its hard to believe that you had no idea that a show called 'my big friggin wedding' was to be about wedding planning, and they were not going to try and make it like bridezillas or jersey shore. we all know those shows sell and thats all the producers care about.

Im sure your husband is great and I am glad that he is not like that in the show. But please remember that when you make 80 posts about 'what did you think about my show?' you are going to get a reaction out of people that you may not like. When you promoto it and let us know that you have blogs, and FBs and LIW sites there are going to be people that do not like the show. Its not a matter of knowing you and liking you and your husband.

People comment on bridal shows ALLLL the time. there was an 08 bride that was on My fair wedding and people ripped her a new one because she was not that good on the show. its going to happen when you go on national tv... and once again especially a show called MY BIG FRIGGIN WEDDING.

Im sorry your hurt and Im sorry you dont like the negative, but honest there are other people out there doing the same thing, you just dont know it.

Sandra, I just want to say that I love watching you guys on the show~you guys are hysterical and real easy on the eyes
And for those people sending you hate FM's~they need to get a life! I can't believe people are treating you like this.
And for the people who think that editing has nothing to do with it~it does...I hate it even when I hear it on t.v. people say 'oh, don't blame editing, everything you see happened the way it happened.' That's bullcrap. I notice all the time when I watch reality t.v., there are so many things blatantly edited to make someone seem a certain way.
Anyway- I just wanted to give you lots of

Re: ummmm... a little popcorn?

Just thought I'd add this to shed some light on what Sandra may have been told in the beginning...

I got a call asking if we'd like to audition to be on this show. The casting agent was all cheery and talked about how it was different from bridezillas and those other shows, and said something to the effect of how it focused on brides and families that liked to have fun, that liked to party, and had a big family that liked to party too... she equated it to a modern day 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' and that it would follow you through the pre-wedding events like the bachelor/bachelorette parties and things like that.

I didn't really buy the innocent family-friendly nature of it, so I asked her if the show had a name, and she said it didn't have a name yet. Then I asked if it had a working title, and she said the working title was 'My Big Friggin' Wedding'. Obviously they would not have told me if I hadn't dug for it, and that told me exactly what I had expected, that the show was going to be more along the lines of Bridezillas or the jersey shore. It goes to show that they weren't really being honest with the style of their show, and I wouldn't doubt that Sandra and Joey didn't necessarily know exactly what they were getting into. Just wanted to share this for what it's worth before you think she was 'asking for it'.

I probably spoke with the same person- she was all cheery about how upbeat and cute the show was going to be, a big fat greek wedding for italians. When I met with the casters from LA it was still called The Wedding, The Family. They began asking us who in the family doesn't get along with whom and what were the issues we were confronting with each other over family matters. Obv it didn't seem so innocuous and cute after that and that was that for us.

hey sandra, I just wanted to say that you are handling this very well and your hubby should be proud that you are such a strong woman! If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't even respond to the drama nor would I give any one an explanation.

We were asked to be on a wedding show also and at first it started out all nicey nice and then it started turning into a drama fest so we backed out, so I totally understand how the show can manipulate things.

It's an experience like any other, what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger!

Hi Sandra

I also want to commend you for being a strong person. Through out the things that was said about you - you STILL remain strong! I firmly believe that SOME people want to judge you, create drama and see you breakdown- but you're not letting it happen.

You owe no one an explanation. Continue to keep your head up Sandra!
