undecided after some bad new

my friend and her fh had goen to a family wedding at the jericho terrace. she said that over all the hall was beautiful. she said that the second that she got their everyone that worked there was very nasty, the food tasted like it was 3 years old, the drinks stunk, and the rooms were very hot and uncomfortable. she also said that the bathrooms were very dirty and the dished really werent clean. i am so nervous and undecied now. i booked jericho terrace and now im heraing all this abd stuff and it isnt the first time. after i booked it with the fh like 3 other people that went to weddings there after that gave me all very bad news.......what should i do HHHHHEEEEELLLLPPPPPPP

Do you trust rheir opinions? I am only saying that because I have run into ALOT of negativity since I have started planning my wedding, some of which is unwarranted. My friend got married there and although I did not attend her wedding, another friend told me it was awesome. You cant always go by what one person says. Did you do the food tasting yet? I wouldn't worry. I heard tons of good things about Jericho Terrace. Try doing a search of Brides Reviews at JT and see what you come up with !

Wow, I am very surprised to hear that! My co-workers attend a charity event there every June and have had nothing but raves about JT.

You know, maybe they did have an 'off' night or maybe some people are being too picky. Just don't freak out. JT has been around for many, many years and has a great reputation. I have attended weddings there and had a great time. I would speak to your BM next time you are there and voice your concerns. Let them know you have had negative feedback and are nervous. Let them put in the extra motivation to give you peace of mind

It always seems that after you book a hall you start to hear bad reviews...It might just be that we are so in tune now bc we don't want things to go wrong...If you have heard the same complaints from several people or if it concerns you so much, I would speak with the BM right away & see what he has to say...You will always hear some type of bad comment about the hall you choose just bc people always have something to say!

after i booked my hall and my photographer i started hearing all bad things out them too
but you know what . you picked these venders for a reason
everyone has their own opinons on things and you just have to trust your own judgement

I know how you are feeling after what my hall is going through. all this crap rumors and stuff. i just cant take it any more. i feel like i want to change my venue more and more each day.

call your banquet manager, and tell him you'd like to voice some concerns regarding the alcohol, and the service. I've always heard that the food was great--ask to have a tasting. Also, look at your contract is the liquor classified as 'top shelf' is so--ask him what thier standards are-what kind of wine, what kind of vodka....ask him who the Maitree 'D (sp?) of your affair will be, and when can you meet him? and that you have heard of some recently unhappy guests, and what can they do to reassure you? try to remember two things:
1. you picked the Jericho Terrace because you liked it, it was the right date, right time, and right price.
2. they are working for you. don't be afraid to push back, and get a little bossy-you've signed a contract, read it carefully, and make them live up to it...
don't get intimidated, and don't be undecided-there is soo much to do, stand firm in the choices that you make, I'm sure you are going to have an awesome wedding!!!!!!!!

I went to a wedding there in July and enjoyed the food and the bathrooms were not dirty and neither were the plates. My only thing with JT is probably what the bride and groom chose in their budget - buffet style. They called us up at about 11pm and we waited on line for about 25 minutes to get food and hardly ate any of it because we were all half in the bag by that point. That was my only complaint, as it was most of our friends too.

Oh, and alcohol too (again, i think this is what they chose in their budget), they only had a choice of 2 light beers, no corona, heinekin.

see i know that the opinions and comments that i got are coming from tow of my best friends and they would not want to confuse me anymore then i already am...hehehe...but i do think that i am going to call my banquet manager and speak with him with the few concerns that i have.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions....but, my sister did have her wedding there and it was very good. The banquet manager and her assistant were amazing,helping her all nite..making sure she ate. Even helped her clean her dress at one point. I thought the food was good and the help was great!

So, yea, it can be all about experience and maybe a bad one but, in most cases it is a matter of opinion.
I wouldnt worry and if it make you feel better to talk to you BM with these concerns..then do so. Hey, he may even help out with some more throw ins

Our wedding was at Jericho Terrace in September and no one could stop raving about the food. We had full open bar, top shelf was in our contract so check that, plus I requested brand name soda. My MIL actually called to ask how they make their apple martini's because she enjoyed them so much, and my dad, who is a chef of sorts himself, said the steak he had was the 2nd best he has ever had, only second to Chicago's famous steak house.

The service was great, nothing was dirty, and my bridesmaid said the bathrooms were beautiful and although I did not use them on my wedding day, I had previous times when we had gone for meetings and they were always spotless.

You know that different people have different opinions about things - whether it be pickiness or just a general negitive view of things - I would not worry one little bit. We had a fabulous experience.

I went to a wedding at Jericho Terrace about a year and 1/2 ago. Overall, it was an excellent wedding and we had a great time. The one thing that really turned me off though was this. Our table all ordered our food...everyone's came out but mine. When I told the waiter, he said he'd be right back with it. I waited and waited while everyone else finished their dinner. Finally he came out and told me they ran out of prime rib and would I like something else. At that point I really didn't want anything at all since everyone was finished and back out on the dance floor. I took the chicken anyway. It was good, but it was too late. That being said, I think I was the exception, because everyone else raved about the food and service.
In the end you just have to go with your gut feeling.

I really dont like their attitudes but that is just my opinion. I didnt even go near there when i was looking for a hall to have my wedding at. However, do what you feel is right.

Hi,
defintely follow the above advice.
if they dont satisfy your concerns, ask for your $ back and go somewhere else you have plenty of time.
Did you think of talking to Zia Antonette, they had the twins party there, maybe they know someone.

I would call your BM and tell him what was said because even if it was true for some reason, they will make sure they take care of your wedding so you rave about it. I have never known anyone to say anything bad about Jericho Terrace Im shocked. My brother is getting married there too in June.

I went to a wedding there in October. -
The food was Excellent - not at all the 'typical' catering hall food - So so say. Everything was absolutely fresh, and HOT too !
The wait staff was pleasant, nothing to rave about - but not at all nasty.
The bathrooms were IMMACULATE ! (and I am Mrs Clean)

The ONLY complainnt I had was that there were multiple parties going on that night and NO ONE around to direct you .....

I went to a wedding there and thought it was wonderful. The food and service were GREAT. There are always ppl who find something to complain about so don't get worked up. Your day will be beautiful and wonderful!

I heard mixed reviews about my place after I booked them. please don't let this get you worried. If you are really concerned bring it to the attention of your banquet manager.

By the way, I am going to a reception there on saturday. I will post a review when I get back.
