I was 'testing' to see if I could handle it today. Got my brows and underarms done. Even the lady doing it told me I was nuts to try waxing my underarms... she was right. They're still throbbing! And the hair was too short for it to work anyway.
But she did a fabulous job on my eyebrows... Racine's in Islip. Nice place! I also got a facial done... very relaxing.

Re: Underarm waxing... yeowch!!
That stinks cause I was thinking of doing that for the wedding. I didn't want stubble that day but I know of I get it waxed I will have to grow it to a certain length and it will be July!!

I use my epilady under my arms! People say you get used to it - I don't buy it. It still hurts but I hate shaving so I still do it now and then.

I'm going to start going for laser treatments, but I know it won't be done in time for the wedding. Ah, well. Shaving it is. Hate that! Even when I shave really well, there's still a 'shadow' that makes me self-conscious. One of the joys of being Italian.

It stinks that it does need to grow for a bit before you do it, but its sooooo worth it. The first time I thought I'd never do it again. But it lasted so long and was so great, that I do it before trips now and don't have to worry about it at all while I'm gone. It never feels good, but its not horrible and I think I've gotten used to it. Put some ice under there and you'll feel better

I am also going to do this. I go for regular bikini waxes and now I thread my eyebrows (talk about pain!) But for my wedding I don't want that shadow. I am so afraid of it! I;m OK getting a brzilian bikin wax, but underarms scare me. Go figure.

Re: Underarm waxing... yeowch!!
I had my underarms waxed for the wedding and it barely hurt. For me the worst part was letting the hair grow for two weeks - in warm weather If the hair wasn't long enough, I think it would hurt more.

I've done it a few times, and it's true if your hair is too short it hurts much more.. same thing with leg waxing... eyebrows I'm soo used to barely feel it now..lol

Re: Underarm waxing... yeowch!!
I had it done on Saturday after not having waxed my underarms in YEARS!! And it hurt for more than a day, but now it's fine.
I had let it grow for about a week & a half (yes, I looked very pretty at my last fitting with gorilla pits!! )

Re: Underarm waxing... yeowch!!
I've only waxed my underarms a few times before long tropical vacations.
It is DEFINITELY not as bad as a bikini wax!!! IMO anyway. But I do think it is worth it. Just make sure to get it done a few days before the wedding so you are not red.
Oh, and I usually let it grow out 2-3 weeks. GROSS!!!!

Re: Underarm waxing... yeowch!!
I had my underarms waxed for the wedding and it didn't hurt too bad. I went to the Rain Day Spa in Woodbury and they assured me that it would not be red for the wedding (I had it done the Wed. before my Sat. wedding). Well, my skin wasn't red so much, but it was definitely discolored for about a week. I hope it doesn't show up in pics. I'd suggest going a whole week before just to be safe.

Re: Underarm waxing... yeowch!!
I started the waxing process about four months ago. I have done lip, eyebrow bikinini but never the underarm. Let me tell you the underarm hurt like #@&& Holy Cow!!! I didn't want to let her do the other underarm
But I did. Let me tell you that the second and third time wasn't as bad. I went to a spa and the woman was more experienced and the key ... as gross as you feel you have to let the hair grow.
Oh the price we pay for beauty..

I've done the underarms twice- it didn't hurt that bad. I think you do need to let it grow which sucks but it is much better that way! I also suggest taking advil an hour before you get the waxing- helps with the pain and the inflamation.
I am not sure if I will do it again- the growing out part sucks and I don't know if I can do that in the summer but we'll see. I just started using the razor- Intuition and it's great- a very close, smooth shave!

You ain't kidding. A leg wax is a walk in the park compared to underarm waxing!! But I might do it nevertheless!
