Undergarment Help!
I got the call that my dress should be here in a week! (yay!) But my problem is... I need to figure out what I'm wearing under my dress before I start going for alterations. Are most of you wearing just cups? My sister inlaw wore a corset but I don't know if it's even worth it!
opinions? solutions?
(OH and I have a small chest, so lets keep that in mind
)THANKS!!!!

I got a strapless bra, but I have a bigger chest. If I were smaller I'd just do cups for comfort. I don't think you should start alterations yet though. Normally they start about 6 weeks before for the wedding (give or take)

I figured cups would be ok, thanks! Also, I'm starting alterations because I have to make some changes to the build of the dress itself. The less stress the better lol

I'm doing a corset, but I have a bigger chest. Strapless bras aren't comfortable for me because my girls are too heavy for them lol. If you don't need to worry about that, then I would just go with cups. Do whatever makes your comfortable though! Make sure if you just do cups, you can jump and dance around and still feel good.

Definitely something to think about! My goal is to be the most comfortable... I don't want to have to be adjusting while I'm trying to enjoy my day!

Go with cups. When I was in a bridal party, they strongly suggested going with cups if your able to. You will be in the dress for over 12 hours and need to be comfortable.

I was told cups depend on your cup size. My seamstress told me I wouldn't look appropriate with cups bc I'm too big and I'm a c.

IDK if this will help you because everyone is different, but I just got fitted and picked out under garmets, so I thought I'd share:
I'm between a C and D and couldn't do cups either. I went to a specialty store for bras and they told me since my dress is structured, to wear a tight-fitting strapless. The fitting was interesting; they took me down a band size, but up a cup size. It worked perfectly! The bra is snug and will keep my girls in, while the dress fits snug on the waist so that it will stay up. I think I'd go to a specialty store and ask what they suggest. Bring pics of your dress!

I went with a strapless corset because I would not be able to deal with adjusting a strapless bra all day .... haha

I live in Rochester, so I can't be much of a help. If you're in Suffolk, I had a good experience at Blum's in Patchogue years ago. Any 'intimate apparel,' store should be able to make some recommendations for what to wear under your dress.

When you go for your first fitting see what your seamstress suggests I have a pretty fair size chest c/d and was originally planning on cups only but a corset looked much better. The cups pushed me up tooooo much and made me look like I had creases between my chest and underarms.

i heard mary's was great from a bridal store.

im planning on a strapless corsett because i tried my dress on without one and almost didnt buy it (paradise doesnt give you loaners, another store i tried it on at did) then i brought my strapless bra and a corsett i had at home (separate) and it made ALL the difference!

What brands of corsets did you all get? I'm a large C so i'll probably need to get a strapless corset as well. I want a nice pretty one :)
