I am confused as to what kind of undergarment to get. I was thinking maybe the Dream Corset (Frederick's), but my seamstress mentioned that she would not advise getting anything that laces up in the back. (My dress isn't a low back dress, though). Does it really matter? What else would you wear? I'm clueless.

Re: Undergarments
I tried the dream corset because my dress is not low backed wither and it still showed a little bit. The laces were not a problem but It flattened out my chest too much.
I wound up with a corset that hooks and has cups. This gives you the little extra belly control without suppressing any of 'your'assets (so to speak)
Got it at Miriams corset. Do a search there are other posts on it.

Re: Undergarments
Ok, I am confused, do we have to wear a corset or is that just a preference... I was planning to have just bra cups sawn in, and wear the undies, but nothing else, b/c its a summer wedding... Am I totally off? Please be honest

You don't need to wear a corset. I can always use a little extra 'control'

Re: Undergarments
I had planned on wearing no bra or just a strapless bra with my strapless gown. But when the top was fitted to me I found the strapless bra did not keep me 'contained'. If I danced or even lifted my arms I popped out.
So I wound up getting a corset which I would have never thought about in a million years. I bought a seamless corsette in Macy's that had hooks in the back. (It was about $68). VS makes a almost the exact one (which I also bought) but the one from Macy's fit nicer. A corset held it all in place better so you aren't really flopping around and no poping out.

Re: Undergarments
I had issued with strapless because some you could see through the dress and others were more comfortable so I wound up spending money on some that I didn't even wear. I would try them on with your dress and see (some bridal places even sell them) because some places don't take them back either. Good Luck!

Re: Undergarments
I bought my crinoline at the same place I got my dress, Lillettes. It was probably a rip off but at this point I can't deal with having to make any more stops at any more stores if I don't have to!!! lol
