Undergarments when trying on gowns

Undergarments when trying on gowns

This might sound silly, but what did you all wear underneath when you went to try on your wedding dresses?

Will a basic strapless bra be enough? I'm going for the first time on Friday!

The first time I went shopping, I wore a special corset that I have with a low back. Then the second time I was given a corset to wear when trying on my dresses.

A basic strapless bra is fine.

I wore a regular strapless bra. Oh and make sure you wear full panties or boyshorts. You don't want your bridal consultant seeing you in a thong!

A strapless bra is fine but also wear some boyshorts since the person helping you get into the dress will be in the fitting room with you. Also if you want to flatten your tummy then go with a corset.

wear whatever you feel comfortable in. I wore control top stockings. I didn't have a strapless bra with me every time so they lent me one.

I just wore a regular bra and underwear. I didn't plan on going dress shopping the day I bought my dress. It was fine.

I wore a regular strapless bra and full panties. Once I wore a regular bra because I didn't plann on going I just stopped by a place and they lent me a corset bra.

I went out and bought a special bra to try on with - turns out I didn't need it - it was better trying the dresses with no bra! I'd just bring a strapless one cause u never know and wear full cut underwear...

They gave me a corset when I went to try on gowns. I didn't end up wearing one with my gown because they sewed cups in but they'll probably have a corset for you to try on. Or you can use your strapless to give you an idea.

I wore boyshorts and a regular bra but after the first dress the bra came off and so i was just in boyshorts.

the shops usually have bras you can use, or a long line bra (the kind with boning). Different dresses will require different bra types so no need in spending money on one now, just use what the shop has. The assistant will be in the room with you helping you get the dresses on and off so keep that in mind

I'd also suggest bringing a hair band or something that you can use to pull your hair up if it is long. And bring snacks! LOL it could be a long day and a granola bar and a bottle of water are delicious when you're starving and grumpy

Have fun!
