I'm not a big girl, I'm pretty average. I'm most likely wearing a mermaid wedding gown, so I'd like to have the appearance of an hourglass figure. Is there an undergarment that just cinches the waist under the bra and not over the hips (hourglass=I need hips :) ) that is also not visible under some of the gown fabrics like satin?
I tried on a gown I loved, and I wanted to wear the corset but the saleslady said it would be visible with that particular gown.

Bear in mind corsets are really uncomfortable. You wont want one if your planning on dancing or sitting or eating. Look into longline bras or a gown with a corset back closure

I had a similar style dress and I wore a longline bra and a light weight panty girdle pulled over it to smooth the edges (sounds sexy I know) and it was perfect. I am a street size 2/4. I went to Orchard Corset on the lower east side...if you bring them a picture of your dress they will help you find exactly what you need.

I have a natural hourglass figure but my dress was not showing it off at all...in comes the long line bra! The way she fastened it was that it was at the farthest it could be apart at the top and as it went down it cinched in more until at the bottom it was at the last clasp it could be at. Gave me back my hourglass!! Pics in my album (the last two)

The concern with the panty/girdle is that I don't want it to **** in my butt, but I'm not sure what other solution there would be.
