After 2 months we fiinally got out unedited video from our 11 hour day. We got 2 hrs and 40 minutes of raw footage...it was supposed to be more like 7 or 8 hours!...and the dvd stopped well before the cake even came out... Plus the audio was full of static like a bad fm radio station with another person's wedding audio mixed in the background as well as some other choppy music. This is unacceptable. I can't wait til Monday. Anyone else have this problem? I know it's not supposed to be edited but why do we have several tracks of audio? And where's the rest? How are we supposed to watch this?

I would call about the amount of time you were told you would have. Raw footage is usually not the best quality. It is unedited and very choppy.

i understand the video to be not the best but the audio should not have someone else's wedding in there. We paid for this dvd, we aren't just going to throw it away once we get the final version.

Re: unedited video / raw footage is awful
typically the unedited version has a shallow audio depending on the type of microphone the cameraman used. During the editing process, the audio will be 'fixed' (more like adjusted) with audio technology. The videographer will also add some music in the background of the video too. Also, if your film was only 2 hours and it was considered 'raw footage' I check your contract to see if you were covered for the full 11 hour wedding. Clearly if the raw footage was only 2 1/2 hours, he only took 2 hours of footage. The 'edited' version will be even shorter, probably 30 minutes - 1 hour.
Just go in and sit with your videographer and go through everything. Good Luck!

i'll sort it out. He was video taping til 2am. They must have put it on 2 dvds but forgot to give us one of them. How could we not receive our cake cut, and the bouquet toss? They did that with the picture proofs. We didn't get the last hour and a half...

Re: unedited video / raw footage is awful
It's ruined...our dj agreed they aren't going to able to save the introductions when she heard a clip. The stupid wedding on the other side of the wall is heard very loudly throughout the video. Thanks Westbury Manor for booking 2 weddings so close to each other. They better work some miracles on the editing.

Re: unedited video / raw footage is awful
everything will be fine. this only happened once back in vhs days. it was on a separate channel so they'll delete the other wedding's audio.
