unemployment question

unemployment question

Ok so as soon as I was laid off I applied for unemployment. eff 6/26

I had no employment this week
I will have no employment next week

I will begin my job 7/10

How does this work. I can't even confirm unemployment for THIS week until 7/8 due to the one week waiting period.

I am so confused
I have never used unemployment before.

Unless the rules have changed, you can claim unemployment for every day you did not work during the period between when the 1 week waiting period is up, until when your new job starts. Meaning, you can claim 1 week which is the week of July 2 - 8. Make sense? I would double check with the Dept of Labor web site to make sure the rules haven't changed.
