uneven bridal party?

uneven bridal party?

I'm having too many issues with one of my BMs....it's my sister on top of it! So I want to just drop her from the BP altogether. My question to you WISE and very HELPFUL ladies is, will it look tacky now if my BP is uneven? FH will have 3 guys and I would be left with only 2 girls....what do you think? TIA

it's fine to have an uneven bridal party but I would rethink kicking your sister out of it. This is something that she might be very offended over and might never forgive you for. I just don't want you to do something you might regret out of anger

I think its ok, I've been to many weddings where its uneven. My BP is actually 10 guys and 8 girls and the way we're dealing with it is to have my sister and FSIL walk in with two guys...kind of makes them stand o ut from the rest as being a little more special being that ther our sisters.

The same thing has happend to me except mine is my sister-in-law. My bridal party is uneven now also. I am just going to have 2 guys escort 1 girl down since I have an extra guy.

Believe it or not, I was my sister-in-law's maid of honor when they got married and I did not give her any problems at all. I also was in one of the worst stages of my life and a wedding was the last thing I wanted to participate in at that time of my life but I just kept my mouth shut and did whatever she asked. I can't believe she was the cause of all my stress for months on end.

She has been the biggest cause of my stress since December. She has dropped out and come back in and then dropped out again. She even put money down on her dress already.

It's too long to get into the whole story but my advice to you is if she is causing you a lot of stress and you have good reason to ask her to step down then do it. It stinks when it is a family member who stresses you out. I know the feeling. I must tell you that since my sister-in-law has stepped down again, I have been stress free with the issue. But then my mom says to me 'Trisha, I feel really bad that Joanna still has to pay off her dress when it comes in, how about you ask her if she wants to be part of the wedding party again?' I told my mom no way and just leave it as it is.

Whatever you decide, good luck with it and I hope your sister understands.

Don't let anyone stress you out, it's so not worth it.

Thank you for letting me vent.

I had an uneven bridal party. Everyone walked down the aisle alone. It was no big deal and nobody noticed. They will be focused more on you and your FH.

I wouldn't worry about the bridal party being uneven but it its your sister you're having issues with I would consider it carefully, she is your family and you'll have to deal with her for the rest of your life.

i have only 2 girls...FH has 4 guys. My wedding is an afternoon wedding and I wouldn't have time for a huge group of girls to get ready. I will have my girls in black dresses so that it's not as noticeable that the party is uneven

I have an uneven BP because I had to release one of my BM's - I don't think anyone will notice - or even make a big deal about it

Don't use the word 'tacky' - nothing about your day is going to be tacky -

you can have one regular couple & then trio with the 2 guys & 1 girl. it will be fine. I went to a wedding with a similar situation and noone said anything. We were too busy talking about how beautiful the bride was, as im sure people will be saying about you! Too bad your sisteris giving to you troubule, maybe she'll come around.

no worries about an uneven BP .. I have one, so the first set of people walking down will be 2 girls and 1 guy.

Why would that be tacky? I have 5 girls I am close to and FH had 4 guys - why would he throw someone in for the sake of making it even? No one will care or probably even notice!

I have an uneven bridal party..8 girls and seven guys. I will most likely have 2 girls walk down w/ 1 guy. Don't worry. It doesn't have to be even!

Re: uneven bridal party?

Nah not at all. I never planned on having an even bridal party. I wanted those who meant the most to us and I was not going to put people who did not want to be in it in it just to make it even. SO I have 3 girls and 4 guys...not tacky at all, besides it is really just to walk down the aisle with and to get introduced.

I am having the same problem FH has 4 GM he wants but I only have 3 BM, but I don't know what to do about the 1st dance since I want the bridal party to dance with us. I feel like I have to add another BM, but I don't know if I really want to.

It very rarely works out that anyone has an even bridal party these days. I have 6 girls and FH has 5 guys. When they walk out of the church, 2 girls will walk down with one guy. No biggie

I think that will be nice.
If FH has a bestman who is planning on standing with him before the ceremony then the other 2 guys can walk down with the 2 girls you have.
Would actually be nice.
I went to a wedding last month where there were 7 BM and 8 GM. The last girl walked down with 2 guys one on each arm.
You can do anything these days.
whatever makes you happy
