So FH went a little overboard when he asked 8 people to be in his bridal party (after we firmly agreed on 5 each). I personally don't want to add anyone else to my bridal party. There's one other person I want to add and she's currently in the Peace Corps. in Africa and won't be back until August 2010. So, I'm trying to figure out how in the hell we're going to have the bridal parties walk down the aisle. I'm a little neurotic about uniformity, but I have no idea how to make it uniform. We'll obviously have MOH and BM walk down together. Then 4 sets of GM/BM, but after that it's 3 GMs with nowhere to go and no one to go with. Should I make it 3 walking down the aisle at a time? Should I make them walk alone? Should I make them walk together as a 3-some? Two together and one alone? What would you do if you were in my shoes? Are any of you in my shoes?? TIA ladies!!

Re: Uneven Bridal Party
I might be in your shoes, but I'm not sure yet and it would only be by 1 (not 3).
A couple years ago, some friends asked me to be in their BP last might (2 months before the wedding) making me the extra. I walked down with FH and another girl. FH was so pleased because it was a threesome. You should have seen his face; he was beaming!
I think threesomes are fine and sometimes they look pretty cool!

Re: Uneven Bridal Party
I got it.... Make 4 Girls go down the aisle with 2 men on each arm..... Thats 8 men for 4 girls.. and have the Maid of Honor go by her self right before you come down the aisle =)

Re: Uneven Bridal Party
I have an even BP but I have been to plenty of weddings where they walk in 3's.....so if you have too many guys, have 2 guys walk with one girl....

This is what I was thinking, but is the aisle going to be wide enough? (Not that they're all huge or anything, but seriously, was it built for 3?) I don't want them to be mushed together and stepping on each other's feet!

Are you having your bridal party walk into church together, or just the girls? If it is only the girls who walk in before you, while the guys are already at the altar waiting, its totally fine. Either way, the focus is not on them it is on YOU and FH!!! If they are squished for the 2 seconds it takes to walk out of the church, who cares???

That's too funny! I don't know how much the guys will enjoy being the majority!!
I do kind of like the idea of MOH walking down the aisle right before me, by herself. I'll ask her how she feels about it, I'm sure she'll be fine.

If you getting married at the church go with 2 other people and check it out. If your having it at the RH just tell them to make the aisle wider.

Re: Uneven Bridal Party
i went to a wedding once and the groom had way more dudes than chics
they were paired in two and threes meaning a couple would walk down the aisle and the next set was a bm in the middle with a gm on each side. the bride refused to ask more girls to be in her party and refused to have him get rid of gm just to make it look right. they didnt care.

I was having the whole BP walk into the church together. It didn't occur to me to have the men already waiting at the front of the church with FH.

Re: Uneven Bridal Party
You can totally make it work! We have an uneven party too (only off by one), and I am having the girls walk in by themselves and then they will double up on the way back!

It's a church. I really have to go in and find out the measurements of the aisle anyway so I can get started on my monogrammed aisle runner! WHOO!

I have seen it done both ways..........sometimes the guys wait at the altar while all the girls come in separately, and I have seen it where we all walk in together...I haven't figured out how we want it yet but either way looks great! hmmmm maybe the guys should be waiting in suspense for me and my BM to be walking down.....keep em waiting!!!!!!!!!

Haha! I like it!! I had always just imagined them all walking down together in neat little rows. I know I'm overthinking it, but I can't help it! I told you I'm neurotic!!

Re: Uneven Bridal Party
Thats ok. I have the same thing. Fh has 2 extra guys (and 2 best men) so they will double up. No worries here. The best men are FH's 2 brothers. He didn't want to choose, so he wanted both:
heres my line up
BM/MOH/BM GM/B/GM GM/B/GM B/GM B/GM B/GM Jr. B and Jr. GM FG and RB
