Uneven bridal Party . . .

Uneven bridal Party . . .

I have an uneven bridal party- we have one more GM than we do BM. Any thoughts on howto pair up the extra GM?

Also, if you are getting married (or have gotten married) in a catholic church, have you found the priests to be strict about certain traditional things that you might want to be different.

Since I am having a maid of honor (cousin) and a Man of Honor (brother), I thought that they could walk out together when we are leaving the church. FI's bestman is his bro, and his wife is my BM. Do the MOH and BM have to be paired up or do you think I can get away with the MOH and MOH pairing up, and then the BM pairing up with his wife? (This brings me back to the strictness of the church).

I had an uneven bridal party too, and got married in a Catholic Church, and had a Best Woman!

I think that it's fine for your MOH and Man OH to pair up and walk out together and have your BM and Best Man walk out together. The church probably wouldn't know the difference. I know I didn't have to explain to them who was doing what regarding my bridal party. My MOH and the Best Woman walked back down the aisle together after the ceremony was over.

What each church allows varies upon the church. Since we had our own priest come in to do our mass, we were pretty much allowed to do whatever we wanted. We were able to write our own vows, and the only thing he told us was that it had to say I XXX take you XXX as my husband/wife. I even had a Bruce Springsteen song for my Unity Candle ceremony. The best thing for you to do is sit down with the priest who will be marrying you and go over the ceremony with him and your ideas.

Edited to add: We had one extra GM too, and had him walk down with another couple. So it was one BM and two GM all together.

We have one more GM than BM. The Catholic church isn't looking for anything to be explained.

To compensate for the extra GM, one BM will have two GM walk her back down the aisle and when announced at the reception, she will be announced with two GM as well.

We had one additional GM as well. We had all the GM up front with the BM and DH and the girls walked in by themselves. Then when we left the church I had my MOH walk out with the BM (DH brother) and another GM (my brother).

When the bridal party was announced at the reception I had one of my BMs (my cousin) announced with 2 GM (DH cousin and my brother).

However you want to do it will be fine. There reallly are no rules. This is your day, do whatever you want.

I had an uneven bridal party. I had 2 Jr. Ushers and 1 Jr. BM that walked in together.
It was NOT a big deal at all. The best man doesn't walk down the aisle anyway, he stands up near the groom. The MOH walks down alone.
I have never heard of a Church that even requires a BP, let alone an even one.
I didn't do any annoucements at the reception so I didn't have to worry about that at all.
