Unique Bridal Shower Gifts

Unique Bridal Shower Gifts

Hey ladies,
I have a good friends bridal shower coming up and want to give a fun or unique gift. Was there anything at your shower or a shower you attended that stood out that you could share the idea. I don't want to do the poem with all the household products though. I'm looking for something a little more low key....like a theme basket or something. Just looking for ideas!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Unique Bridal Shower Gifts

my SIL gave me a wine rack with a bunch of different bottles of wine...each bottle was suppose to be for a different occassion...
like your first dinner party, your first fight, when you tell your hubby your preggers...ahh here they are!!

Wedding Night
The night you have dreamed of is finally here
The future surrounds you with hope and yet fear
You’ve wanted so long to find your perfect mate
Sip this wine and toast this perfect date
The night is meant for you to share
Enjoy each other – a perfect pair!!

First Fight
When fights occur and tempers get hot
Pour a glass and be thankful for what you’ve got
If you always agreed it would certainly be a bore
And by asking for Krissy’s hand Bernie is surely
in for more!

First Anniversary
Been married a year, where did the time go?
No longer newlyweds, now you are pros
Hope the days found you in good health and
good spirit
Keep saying I love you –
one always needs to hear it!
Now toast this first date, it’s certainly not the last
And as you build your future don’t ever forget
the past!

First Dinner Party
Open your home to entertain and eat
Catch up with old friends and new ones to meet
When the night is over share this bottle of wine
But don’t sit down yet – it’s clean up time!!

First Christmas
A wise man said wine is better than beer
And now is the season for lots of holiday cheer
So pop the cork and relax a bit,
And when the night is through,
Kiss goodnight, close your eyes
And Santa will be good to you!

First Baby
The news that a baby will soon share your life
will make you a mother, not only a wife
You’ll see it through good times and sometimes
through bad
______ the loving mother
and _____ the dearest dad
Sadly _____ (groom) must drink this one alone, and _____(bride) with an empty glass
Sit back and relax – nine months will quickly pass!

it was really sweet!!

Re: Unique Bridal Shower Gifts

I've done the wine poem for a bridal shower, too. Just remember that a pregnant woman can't drink wine! We made a cute change saying that bottle was for hubby only! (or you can do non-alcoholic sparkling cider or something else cute)

I've seen things purchased for the honeymoon before... like a couples massage at their honeymoon hotel, which is thoughtful for after all the stressful planning

My sister did this for me at my shower:

Candle Poem
Bridal Shower Gift Poem
Looking for a truly memorable gift for the bride-to-be?

The candle poem for a bridal shower is just that! The poem accompanies a basket full of colored candles for the bride and groom to light when they reach certain milestones in their relationship.

A timeless tradition, this bridal shower gift poem is a really sweet way to celebrate the couple's future together!

A Basket of Candles For (Bride's name)

A basket of candles that come in a pair
in all different colors, for you two to share.
The white ones burn first;
they are wrapped in white lace
to celebrate your first married night
in your new chosen place.
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner;
burn with the first company you have over for dinner.
The dark blue candles are for after your first fight;
use them to burn while making up all night.
Pink candles set the mood and pave the way
for your first married Valentine’s Day.
Now, when your first year of marriage is through,
the cream anniversary pair, will light for you two.
Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright;
celebrate promotions you’ve worked toward with all of your might.
By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe
you can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby.
And just when you thought you’d put these away,
take the light blue ones out for your fifth anniversary day.
Now just one more pair left - for the big 'two five' -
the anniversary pair that will keep your love alive.
Congratulations (Bride and Groom)
on the start of your forever.
May the two of you always be happy together.
And burn these candles just the way we said,
but please don’t forget: blow them out before bed!

For this gift, you will need two of each color candle:

White
Green
Navy blue
Pink
Cream
Red
Purple
Light blue
Silver - although the bridal shower candle poem doesn't mention this color directly, silver symbolizes twenty-five years of marriage.

Apart from the color of the candles, you have creative freedom over what they will look like. You might stock your basket with candles in different sizes, shapes, even scents. The bridal shower poem only specifies the size of the green tapers.

For a creative way to wrap the white bridal candles in lace, cut a strip that just overlaps at the 'front' of the candle. Stick a piece of double-sided tape between the candle and the inmost stretch of lace. Then pin the overlapping ends of lace together with a small, lovely brooch. This look adds even more romance to the gift.

Print the poem on attractive paper for the bride to keep long after the party. Tuck the candle poem into the bridal shower basket. At the party, read it aloud to the bride. But be warned: the bridal shower candle poem has been known to induce tears!

For even more memories, make the candle poem a bridal shower tradition among your friends and family!

My sister and cousins also did this at my shower:

The 'Magic of the RedPlate'

It was a time honored tradition among early American families that when someone deserved special praise or attention they were served dinner on the red plate. Today, this custom, so dear to early American families, returns to remind us that a simple reward can mean so much. The Red Plate is the perfect way to acknowledge a family member's special triumphs...celebrate a birthday...praise a job well done...reward a goal achieved...or simply say 'You Are Special Today.' When the Red Plate is used, any meal becomes a celebration honoring that special person, event or deed. It is a visible reminder of love and esteem. This is a way of showing someone dear to you that they are appreciated and remembered. The Red Plate is designed and crafted to become a family heirloom as it is cherished and passed from one generation to the next marking life's important milestones. The Red Plate...Make it a tradition in your family, symbolizing the good and happy times. It will speak volumes of love, when words just aren't enough.

There are a bunch of websites you can find information about this. Below are some I found when I googled 'Red Plate Tradition':

Re: Unique Bridal Shower Gifts

i saw pics from a shower once where everyone in the bp bought one charm for the bride to go on a charm bracelet, and then in a small decorated notebook they explained why they each chose the charm they did. I thought this was really cute.

That is such a great idea! I heard of the similar one with the candles, but this is SO much more something we would enjoy because we love the wineries!

Re: Unique Bridal Shower Gifts

At a recent shower the bride was given a cupcake theme present.

The person gave her everything you would need to make cupcakes; the mixes, a recipe book, the pans, a cupcake carrier, and the stand. You can even get a few yummy cupcakes or make them yourself.

Loving to bake myself, I thought this was a great idea!

Re: Unique Bridal Shower Gifts

What does the bride like? I am attending a bridal shower for a girl that LOVES fashion. She has very high end taste and although I could never afford anything she likes, I wanted to get something fashion related.

So, I bought an original fashion sketch from an art dealer. It was $50. It's original and from the 1940s.
