Unique Centerpieces
Had a question about centerpieces/florists. I want something that fits our venue and adds a little uniqueness - ( I may be the only girl to say this but I am not sold on the flowers galore centerpieces - I'm not really a flower type of gal)that being said we think we have found the perfect idea. It's a clam shell that has some flowers and succulents in it - like the picture attached.Do you girls know any if any florist would do this or do I need someone specific? Anyone know of a place that could do these? I actually saw Pier 1 sells them but no flowers just succulents and we felt like it was missing some beauty.
I was going to go to a local florist and ask them but I figured if the wedding is out in long island it might be best to find someone closer to the venue.

if pier 1 sells them, you could talk to a floirst about putting flowers in them. It'd probably be cheaper for you to buy them than to rent them from a florist

if u do ask a florist about what flowers to put. see what flowers are in season so its not like they're special ordering anything for you to make the cost go up. work with whats in season at the time . see if u could order similar shells online for cheaper too maybe amaazon or ebay?

There are so stores selling them cheaper than others I just didn't want to break the bank with this idea so I didn't know if it was better for me to buy them and buy the flowers and do it myself or for a florist to do all the work and deliver them the day of because my problem would be getting them there the day of if I do it myself.

Definitely talk to a florist about it and see what they say. Anyone you want to work with wouldn't pressure you to do anything you don't want to anyway. Price it out if you were purchasing th shells yourself or if you wer renting them from them and see which way is more feasible.

If you're looking for a florist on LI (which I think you should otherwise they'll charge you a travel fee) check out hidden essence. I know some other ladies have done phone conferences and emails as the first meeting because they live in the city. She's located in Bayshore and is so sweet. She really got what we were looking for and kept it low-cost for us.

Laurie LaBlossom can do anything with or without flowers. Her work is great. She is doing my wedding with flowers but she did a Mother Goose Shower and it didn't have any flowers in the centerpieces. I can FM her contact info if you want.
