It is super important to my FH and me to have an unique and beautiful Christmas wedding venue on LI. We had toyed with the idea of a FL wedding but logistics and convenience factor for out-of-town guests just made it too difficult. Any venue ideas would be greatly appreciated! So far, we have looked at the following:
Watermill (OUT) Lands End (Probably OUT) NYIT de Seversky Mansion (Love it but $$) Flowerfield (MOB loves but I'm not quite sure..)
And we are going to schedule an appointment for The Carltun
PLEASE HELP! I'm so stressed out and I feel like this isn't how you should feel when planning the happiest day of your life..

A friend of mine was married at the Fox Hollow on January 4th a few years back and it was still set up for christmas. Her pics are beautiful.

Re: Unique Christmas Venue
I was at a December 8 wedding at Fox Hollow where it was set up for Christmas. It was gorgeous! My venue also looked beautiful at Christmas time.

Fox Hollow is beautiful at Christmas time (I'm not just saying that.. I'm a summer bride lol) and the Cottage at Milleridge is very popular around Christmas and the whole village is lit up.

Thank you, everyone! Any other suggestions? My FH and I were in a wedding that took place at Fox Hollow (two of our bridal party members). Your help is much appreciated.

I haven't seen my venue for Christmas but I picture it looking gorgeous. The Riviera has all the dark wood with exposed beams and the two fireplaces on the dance floor so it gives it that warm and cozy feeling.

I got married at the Inn at New Hyde Park at Christmastime....the decorations were gorgeous and elegant. We saw a few venues that looked like elves exploded on the front lawns- red and green uplighting, mechanical reindeer. Make sure you ask to see pictures of the decorations before you book.
Milleridge In is also supposed to be beautiful at Christmas, and the little village is so charming.

Milleridge Cottage is hands down the absolute best Christmas venue around!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been searching the internet for Christmas VIMEOs as I am a visual person. I found this one from Flowerfield, made me feel a little better about my mom's 'vision' of the place. http://vimeo.com/61957074
My FH and I saw a wedding band showcase at Milleridge and one of my friends also suggested NHP INN. She said it was the best cocktail hour around by far, ha!

I've seen Timber Point set up for Christmas and they do a nice job. White lights outside and inside and a Christmas tree by the main staircase

FH and I looked at the Inn at New Hyde Park around Christmastime when we were searching for our venue. It was absolutely beautiful. I also hosted my parents' anniversary party at Milleridge Inn the Saturday after thanksgiving and it was all set up for Christmas. That was stunning as well.
I'm getting married around christmas this year and I DIDN'T want a christmas wedding. My venue (mansion at west sayville) is very minimally decorated. Just white lights, green garland and one or two trees with just white lights.
We also looked at The Riviera and Miller Place Inn... The Riviera was in the middle. More decorated than my venue... but christmas didn't explode in it.
Miller Place Inn.. GORGEOUS. However... Christmas definitely exploded. Red and gold decor .. christmas lights all over, santas... a HUGE like 20 foot christmas tree in the cocktail room. It was gorgeous but definitely not what I wanted.
If we were going for the christmas feel for our wedding... we would have booked there.
