a close friend of mine just got engaged and i was looking for ideas on what to get her for a special but unique type of gift to give her? any suggestions? i know her mom will buy the toasting glasses and garter etc...

for my friend who just got engages - i got her a subscription to martha stewart weddings and i made her a planner which was just dividers and clear plastic spots for pictures - plus each section i gave her things to consider and things i learned

My sis n law did the same thing for me-how funny and I loved it. My best friend made me a basket of all just married, engagement and crystal frames varying in size. I loved loved loved it.

in addition to magazine subscriptions, my cousin had given me a LI Wedding guide and a large book that highlighted and compared the different venues across LI and NYC.

My FHs friend gave us 2 tickets to wicked & he bought himself 2 tickets & we went to see wicked & then to dinner it was great...one of the best gifts we got

One of my friends gave us gift certificates to our favorite restaurants and to the movies, and a note saying that she wanted us to have fun while we were saving money for the wedding, so there were a few dates on her!

My sister got me a ring holder when I got engaged. I have to say it is one of the best gifts I got so far. I keep my ring there anytime its not on my finger ( shower, sleep etc.) I think of her almost every time I do it, and it looks great on my dresser. Very unique. I got this one from Waterford, but there are so many others to choose from.
I am not sure how unique this is, but I usually send close friends Tiffany candlesticks as an engagement gift.
I received 2 dozen roses that were all different colors from someone as an engagement gift and I thought that was very sweet... It was very colorful and differnet.

I made a money tree for my girlfriend I got all singles and rolled them up like flowers then attached pipe cleaners to them and made a tree.. I also hot glued little rose buds in the middle where i tied the pipe cleaner to the dollar. Got a cute terrocatta pot painted it and that was it.
I also added a poem.
It was different.
