FH and I can't agree on a first dance song. Anytime I find a song I like he thinks it's cheesy. I'm not necessarily into mushy songs - I'd prefer something different that isn't used by a lot of people. I like more styles of music than him (country, classic rock, alternative, folk, etc), he's really not into music and when he is, it's gansta rap...I want to find a song that means something to both of us - anyone have any suggestions?

How about Thank you by Led Zeplin? I'm looking for non-traditional music too. I was thinking of My Dearest Darling by Etta James for our first dance. What are you walking down the aisle to?

Well you said he likes rap, so i would say the best thing for him would probably be an R&B song...Does he have any favorite R&B singers?

we're using Falls on Me by Fuel. We saw them in concert when we started dating and FI sang that song in my ear. It's not traditional...but it's really nice.

The gansta rap thing is hard.... most of it is obviously inappropriate.... just like my FH.. his favorite music? scandinavian metal
how about something by Erykah Badu? It's definitely girlie music, though... He likely wouldn't like music by more mainstream rappers....
I dunno!

We will be using Forever by Kiss which is not a common song at all. From what you have wrote though, I do not think your FH would like this song too much.

Me, not so much. I'm an 80's girl! I was trying to convince him we should dance to 'she blinded me with science' (we met in a lab...)
