we actually used a signature platter...everyone signed it and when we got back from our honeymoon, we fired it in our home oven making the signatures permanent. Everyone loved it...check it out...website is called www.weddingshowergifts.com

I'm stealing an idea from a friend's wedding and using it at mine ... buy a polaroid camera and place it next to the guest book. Have guests take a picture of themselves and tape it to a page in the guestbook and then write a message on their 'page'.
I had a book and asked guests in my invites to bring pictures they had of them with me &/or DH...
not too many people brough them...but I had double sided tape by the guestbooks...and for those that forgot...a polaroid for them to snap a shot of them to put with their words of wisdom...
I even have my video (Wild Rose) and maitre D in there....

We are having a signing frame and a wish bowl instead of a guest book.

one of my girlfriends had postcards of all different sorts and she used those for the guests to sign. Another made a scrap book with space for people to sign around the pictures.
