Manhattan is full of so many stores (obviously!) and some of them we have here on Long Island (lol, like the GAP, Crate and Barrel, etc)
Just wondering - do you know of any good stores that are totally unique to the city that you really like to go to? Why? and where is it located??? :) :) :) :)

2 of my favortie stores closed during this insane recent commericalization of 8th street. There are some really amazing stores in the village. In HS we used to shop at Religious Sex and Trash and Vaudeville. Also Yellow Rat *******. I'd never wear those clothes now. It's also fun to talk in the West Villagem, there are some neat stores tucked away. And there's a plethora of awesome t shirts and *ahem* paraphrenailia. OOOHHHHHHHH Love Saves the Day. It's on something like 11th and 1st. they have all of these amazing old toys.

I think Kate's Paperie is only in NYC and I love it. It is like a candy store for me. I love paper and papergoods.

There was a jewelry store on West Broadway - it's called Cecile Jean, I think. They moved somewhere on Fifth Avenue. I have this ring from there, it's set in silver and it's a huge blue stone but it looks like glass.

What is so funny is that the Pookie & Sebastian flagship store is in Ithaca where I went to college!

CONWAYS right outside of Penn, sells great cheap and cute stuff that would be in one year and then out, so why pay more anyway My Mom and I have a little joke that we must hit that place everytime we are in the city.

One of my favorite stores is the plastics store in Chinatown. Let me see if I can find a link about it.
Do you own a giant plastic banana? I love Paper Presentation ( formerly paper access)

I like Details on 8th Ave and 20th street - recently featured in Queer eye episode. Also - Delphinium in Hells Kitchen (stationary, candles, wrapping paper, picture frames type stuff), Economy Candy on Rivington Street in the lower east side - just went and loved it - candy lover's dream.
I really like the specialty food stores you find in nyc. The Korean markets in little Korea (around 33rd street between 5th and 6th), Chelsea market, etc.

OMG, I used to love Trash and Vaudeville. When I worked at Limelight I used to shop there all the time, I bought some crazy *** outfits there. But that was a lifetime ago, I'm not sure if I could get away with any of thier clothes now or if I would want to.
