Unity Candle Question

Unity Candle Question

My FH and I are having an Interfaith Ceremony that includes a unity candle lighting. I have heard that the mothers can get involved in this and I like that idea.

Can anyone explain to me how that works or let me know what you are doing/have done for this lighting? TIA.

Re: Unity Candle Question

you could have both of your mothers come up, your mother light your candle, your fmil light fhs candle, then you each pick up the candle and light the unity one together

Re: Unity Candle Question

After the exchange of our vows, we are both going to light the unity candle. We are going to light it as a symbol of our unity together.

So the mothers would come up and light the thinner candles (one each) and pass them to us and then we use those to light the bigger candle? That makes sense. I like that. Thanks.

we are having both sets of parents come up and light the taper and then had it to us and we light the one.

I have a question - where do you get unity candles? I looked on line and it seems like you have to buy everything separate..is there any place on LI that sells them as a set?

I got mine as a set at Once Upon A Time in Malverne. Here is mine.

Thanks, nylisa, - I'll check it out. But, just in case, is there anywhere closer to Suffolk or in Suffolk that might sell them as a set? Anyone? Thanks!
