I'm hopefully going to have my ceremony outside (good weather permitting!) and I was wondering if any other brides that are having an outside ceremony are having a unity candle.
I know I can put the candles in hurricane globes, and that should stop them from being blown out.. but how would we actually use the separate flames on the taper candles to light the larger candle? Since the hurricaine globes will be up above the candles, we wont be able to pick up the candles. (as I think thats the way it usually happens)
I was thinking of having some of those long matches around. Have our parents go up before the start of the ceremony, use the matches to light the taper candles in the hurricaine globes. Then, when we go up to do that part of the ceremony, FH and I take another match and light it from the taper candles, to use on the unity candle (and pray that it doesnt get blown out in the process!)
Am I thinking too much about this?
Also, if anyone has done this -- where did you get the hurricaine globe?
(Also sorry for spelling hurricaine probably 4 different ways in this message!)

Re: Unity Candles for an Outside Wedding?
You'd have to use those long match sticks to light the inner one together and then blow out the 2 tapers.
