Universal Studios question

Universal Studios question

I've never been..how does this work. We will probably be staying at the Grand Floridian in Disney, so Universal is not affiliated with Disney? How do we get from The Grand Floridian to Universal? Do we need to rent a car, buy a pass in advance???

Re: Universal Studios question

We stayed at a non-disney non-universal hotel and our hotel provided transportation to all parks. We had a rental car though...it was cheap and well worth it. We wanted to be able to stay in Universal as long as we wanted without missing the last shuttle or taking a cab to the hotel.

I would call your hotel and inquire about transportation.

I'm so jealous, by the way...DH has been hinting for ages that we should go back! Universal and Islands were the most fun! Very crowded, but the best time!

I think if you stay at a Disney Hotel, they arent going to be very helpful about getting you to Universal but Im not sure.

You would probably have to take a cab or rent a car for the day.

Universal is so much fun, its worth it.

I can't really answer your question but I just had to say you're going to have so much fun! My avatar picture is me and FH from when we went there a couple of years ago. It was our first vacation together.
You have to go to Islands of Adventure! I think it's even better than Universal.

Just wanted to add that yes you can buy your passes in advance - I think you can even get them online.
There are also these cool passes that they have at Islands of Adventure - you can pick what time you want to go on a ride, then just show up at that time with your little ticket, and you get to go right on the ride! Just look for the little kiosks around the park.

Re: Universal Studios question

there are suttles that will pick you up at the hotel and take you to universal studios. There really is no reason for a car, unless you plan on taking a drive somewhere else rather than around disney. You can always log onto their site and they will give you all teh info you need. Have fun

Re: Universal Studios question

Disney resorts do not provide a shuttel to any Universal Parks, just to their own parks. Your best bet is to rent a car for that day.

Re: Universal Studios question

I was at Universal studios last week, and we had a blast! I would recommend that you get to the park very early, like be waiting at the gate when it opens, and you can buy express passes for I think $30 a person, and you wont have to wait on the long lines for the rides, there is a seperate line for the express pass holders. They only sell a limited # of them, and they sell out fast, so if you want to do that, make sure you are one of the first people in there. You can also buy the express passes at the rides individually, but that will add up at the end of the day, and most of the time they are sold out anyway. Another thing, wear a bathing suit under your clothes because on some of the water rides you will get soaked!!! When you park your car there, try to remember where you parked, because the garages and all look exactly the same, and its easy to forget where you parked. Have a great time!

Re: Universal Studios question

Disney and Universal are NOT related. I'd get a cab to get from the Grand floridian to Universal. Wow! The Grand Floridian. It's AMAZING! I hope someday I can afford to stay there. maybe for like, one night of the HM!

I always use Mears Transportation (407) 839-1570

....cheaper than a cab

A 2nd vote for Mears, they were very cheap!

Re: Universal Studios question

I would definitely check out Mears first. If for some reason that doesn't work out rent a car. You're going to pay through the roof for that and renting a car will be cheaper.

Can I come?
