unpleasant dress shopping experience

unpleasant dress shopping experience

I'm pretty sure I know what dress I want. There are only 3 places on LI that have it. It is a stunning Mikaella dress that only comes in 2 colors. I've tried on the pearl one which I love. However, I would like to try the other color (natural) before I order anything.

I went to one of the stores that has my dress today. When I called to schedule the appointment, I asked if they had my dress in the natural. They said they did. When I got there today, they claimed that they may have had it when I called, but the sample could have been sold. I was so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also brought it pictures of other Mikaella and Paloma dresses and the women looked at the pictures and said that they also had them. When I began trying on the dresses I noticed that she did not pull those dresses. My mom asked her and she said that they did not have them, after she had told us like a half hour before that they did!
She tried to tell us that some of the dresses I had tried on were similar. She was also pushy and seemed annoyed after I tried on like 6 dresses that I wanted to try more.

My mom, MOH and I left there were annoyed! I am especially disappointed because I had purchased my sweet 16 dress there and it was a good experience.

I came home and called 2 other bridal stores to see if they have my dress in natural. One store told me for that particular dress that Mikaella only sends out the sample in Pearl.

Why did that woman this morning have to make up a story? Shouldn't they have known that style sample doesn't come in natural?

Here's my dress!!

RK Bridal in the city has Mikaella dresses. I called them up to ask about 3 Paloma Blanca dresses and they didn't have any of them but told me that they tend to have more Mikaella dresses. It may be worth calling them.

They make up things like that to get you into the store.. and then show you other dresses... I hate when they do that..

They call that the 'bait and switch' method. They bait you with what you want, then try to switch your mind to get something else...car dealers do that a lot too.
Sorry that happened to you....unfortunately for them, they just lost a big sale!!!! I would call the manager and tell her that also.

I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Where was this? I am in love with Paloma!! They are hard to find. Your dress is gorgeous. I am going to check out the designer you mentioned. It looks to have a similar style to Paloma dresses.
