Is it unrealistic to get a dress (hopefully with alterations) for around $2,500? This is the budget I set for myself and I would like to stick to it as close as possible.

Not at all! I got my dress for 600. Doubt the alterations will bring me anywhere close to 2K. just shop around and look for those trunk shows.

A friend of mine got her dress for $200 and it looked great on her. I would have never known if no one told me the price.

Not unrealistic at all. I set a budget of 2000 for myself and I was able to spend only 1200 on everything. More importantly I got the dress of my dreams! I t is exactly what I wanted and I didn't have to break the bank.

My dress, slip, bra, shoes, veil, and head piece, including tax, came to $1300...alterations will be $200 capped (and I know I'll need all $200 because my train is 11 feet long so the bustle is going to be a PITA)....$2000 is totally, 150% doable!!!

Re: Unrealistic dress budget??
I fell in love with my dress without knowing the price!! I looked at the price and fell in love with it even more! It was only $900!!!!! With alterations and my headpiece (I got a crystal headband-thing) and taxes it came to about $1400. I went to Bridal Suite in Bay Shore. Ask for Maria, she was amazing and she pulled my dress for me without me even telling her what I wanted. She has a sixth sense. All the dresses I tried on there were fabulous and under $1500 and didn't look cheap at all. Good luck!!

Re: Unrealistic dress budget??
Most Maggie's are in that price range and have a lot of detail...unfortunately Pnina's aren't otherwise my dress option would've been very different
Shop around, you'll be surprised at what you'll find in that range!

Re: Unrealistic dress budget??
That's fine!
I spent 2100 on a dress and veil and about 300 on alterations
I felt like I spent more than a lot of girls on here!

Re: Unrealistic dress budget??
Not at all, I set a budget for myself at $2,000 for a dress. And mine only came to $1,035. So alters CANNOT be anywhere near the $2,000.
