Re: Unrolling aisle runner
at the wedding I was at last weekend they actually started at the altar and worked their way back, but I don't think it really matters.
although honestly, the runner kept getting crumpled up and stuff during the ceremony, and the photographer kept almost tripping over it... it definitely decided me that it wasn't worth the expense, at least not in my opinion.
It looks great, but it was distracting for those of us sitting on the aisle!

Re: Unrolling aisle runner
Most weddings i've been to, they start unrolling the runner at the altar. Never seen it unrolled from the back of the church.

It starts at the altar and goes back to the door. Technically you are not supposed to give your back to the altar so that may be why it is done that way.

It is put out right before the bridal party begins to process down the aisle. That way guests do not ruin it before the wedding begins. The limo company does it for you and they secure it with white masking tape.

Yeah, I'd like to know this too. I went to a wedding and they used masking tape!! I was so not feeling that! There is a pretty brick walkway at the RH, I was thinking of no aisle runner and just doing petals on the side.

i believe it is done both ways..it can be rolled out just before the bridal party comes down..or it can be rolled out in advance and blocked off

Re: Unrolling aisle runner
It gets rolled out right before the bride walks..some do it before the bp but most do it for the bride...it gets rolled to the bride by usually the limo drive and is either tacked or taped down to the floor so that is doesnt shift
