Unsupportive Family

My mom and I were extremely close, and I lost her to breast cancer three years ago. My father and I have never really gotten along, and now we have a very strained relationship. My family is very Catholic, and my FH is not religious at all. I strayed from the Catholic Church a few years ago, too...despite the fact that I still consider myself to be very spiritual and have a lot of faith in certain things. With or without that fact, my family is not supportive at all..and living with my father gets harder and harder every day. I feel like I never have a safe place to call 'home'. FH's family is extremely supportive and nurturing, and they have helped me to get my career started and become more self-sufficient. If there is anyone out here who thinks she might understand or has been through something similar, FM me...cause I'm really looking for someone on the outside to confide in right now and get some advice from.

Just wanted to give you a hug. I cant offer you any advice but I am sorry you are going through a time time but Im very happy that you will be marrying into a family who is loving and nurturing, you deserve it

I'm really sorry that you're in this situation

I know your pain...lost my mom almost 6 yrs ago and its been especially hard to plan this without her and wish she was here. At least you will have support from friends and although from a distance, the ladies on this board can give tons of advice and offer comfort.
