UPDATE 5/28:Freaking out about my gown!!

Girls,

I just called my Bridal Salon to get the exact date of delivery for my gown. They tell me it will ship out at the end of June??!!!!

When I freaked about how close that is to my wedding day, they said 'well I'm surprised it's even getting here that soon....you only ordered it in February. We didn't even charge you a rush fee. I ordered my gown in . February, 2008

So it has taken over a year....and it's still NOT in??!!!! They nearly choked when I told them it was ordered in 2008, not 2009. So now they have to put a rush on it.

I hear horror stories about this place all the time (which I wish I knew beforehand). Should I try to get some credit for my stress, or free alterations?

I mean I am up not cheap and so not a 'girly' girl or 'bridezilla'. But this is just incompetency to the MAXIMUM!

AGHHHH....sorry I needed to vent.

I'm sure it will work out in the end .. but geeez who needs that aggravation! Least you know it wasn't your doing. They'll make right by u.

Where did u get the dress if u don't mind my asking?

Try not to stress over it. My gown came in just under a month before my wedding. My first fitting wasn't until 3 weeks before, and everything worked out perfectly. It will for you too, don't worry.

I would put together a list of what you want. Def. Ask for free alterations at the minimum. That is inssane!

Date twin!!! I feel your pain, my gown is not in yet either. I would DEFINITELY make a fuss over this and get free alterations at the MINIMUM.

OUCH - Feb 2008!! I think someone didn't do their job over there! I was going to say, I was in the same position as you - I kind of am, my dress is coming in the 2nd week of june but I ordered it in Feb 2009.
I would try to get something from it - free alterations sound fair. Call another store and see how long that dress takes to come in so you can see if they are lying to you or not and use that info to get them to do something.
When did they say it would come in when you ordered it?

Good advice. I was supposed to get married in May in Jamaica and have a reception at Sunset Harbour in July. I wasn't sure if I was going to wear that dress to both or just a beachy laid back gown to Jamaica and a formal one to SH. She promised me that my gown would be in before Jamaica so I could make that decision down the road without a problem. In the meantime we canceled Jamaica b/c of the economy and my gown is nowhere to be found

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! That is a huge relief. The way I look at it, if they don't have it in when I need it...I will be taking a Vera Wang off a damn mannequin!!

Oh girl I'm so not a Saint...I was in shock at first, but then I lost my mind. I'm going there tomorrow to get something taken off the price or free alterations. I'm more of an 'in your face' kinda gal. Everytime I lost it, I got put on hold. Well you can't put me on hold when I'm standing in your grill giving you a piece of my mind!!!!

So I marched in to the Bridal Salon last weekend. I asked to speak with a Manager, told her how upset I was and how rude the people at the desk were to me. I told her I want something done for me, either discount or free alterations and she said she would do something for me.

I called there yesterday and magically my gown is being shipped out either Friday or next Monday and will take 7-10 business days to get to the salon.

Hopefully it comes in one piece and is not missing any beadwork or details b/c of the rush.

What a headache...hopefully everything from here is 'smooth sailing'

MY GOWN IS IN. 1ST FITTING IS 6/11. I hope it's in one piece! Should I go look at it this weekend to make sure it is? Or should I wait until the fitting?
