your appendix can burst and/or you can get a lot sicker.
appendicitis is very common and I def do not think you need a 2nd opinion.
I would go to an ER or a surgeon that the GI doc recommends ASAP.
where do you live? maybe I can rec someone for you?

I agree with all the others you should not wait on this..if you're getting a 2nd opinion I would get it today (call some of those 1st Med places) and then get the surgery

Omg so sorry to hear but GET IT asap... Unless you don't trust the dr and don't want him operating on you I wouldn't bother with a second opinion!
I had mine out in 2003, they said if I waited another few hours it would have burst.. Recovery sucks but is 10000000 times worse if it ruptures and can cause serious complications
Don't wait, get the surgery and good luck!

Noooooo don't get a second opinion... You need to have it out ASAP... as in TODAY!!!!! If it bursts your will end up in the hospital for days and very sick........Hope you feel better though! and keep us updated!!

Cindy if you can get a second opinion at the hospital where they can perform the surgery, do it. Otherwise GO TO THE ER!!!!!!!!! Don't waste time Cin! Keep us posted and feel better!!

I say don't wait. If you want a second opinion, get it within 24 hours but you are taking a risk! An appendectomy is a minor procedure nowadays and you don't need your appendix, though an infected one can make you very sick! I really hope you feel better.

I had an appendectomy 3 years ago....they did a bunch of tests but my surgeon said there is really no definite way to test to see if its about to rupture until they go in for surgery. It was done laparoscopically and I was back to work 5 days later. You just don't want to rupture (other than the obvious of it being terrible...and that you can die from it) the surgery is much worse and the recovery is a lot longer...

I was correct.. North Shore Manhasset didnt performed surgery. I dont have appendicitis...So happy I went with my gut!! Im treated, discharged and ready to go back to work!!
