UPDATE! Beware of Carlisle Furniture in Carle Place
On August 28, 2004 my husband and I made one of the worst decisions of our life by ordering a couch from Carlisle Furniture in Carle Place, NY. Our salesman, Frank Hartman, told us that it would be delivered within eight weeks, however, as of February 1, 2005 we have yet to receive our couch. Frank does not return our phone calls, nor does he offer any explanation on what has happened. Carlisle Furniture has not offered any reimbursement. They have not even offered an apology.
Don't make the same mistake we did. Do not buy anything from Carlisle Furniture!
Please forward this website to as MANY people as you can who live on Long Island. THANKS!
(I noticed another LI weddings member had a problem with them back in 2003 as well.)

I am really impressed by the website. I am sure that will bring some resolution. You can always take them to small claims court if it is under $3000

Well exactly three weeks later and still no correct piece... Can you believe it? This has got to be some practical joke.
Ladies... if you haven't already, PLEASE send this link to everyone you know. We've gotten a lot of hits to the site and a couple of emails from people who've had similar experiences...
I just want them to know they screwed with the wrong people!!!

Wow what a story. that place is right around the corner from our apt. Maybe we will go in and play around witrh frank a little for ya. Promise to buy thousands of furniture and say 'um nevermind' LOL

Just dispute the charge with your credit card company and be done with them.
All furniture companies suck. When they say 8 weeks... expect 12. When they say 12... expect 18.

So.... perfect then!
Dispute the charge. They come pick up the couch. Be done with them. I don't know why you are letting this drag out.
You get your money back... and you had a free rental of brand new furniture. Granted it wasn't the furniture you wanted... but at the initial delivery... if it was the wrong stuff I would have never accepted the delivery in the first place.
Most furniture companies suck. Frankly they probably all suck. Stuff doesn't get delivered on time. Stuff is mad backordered. Stuff comes damaged. Its a common occurence.
Ask people if they actually LIKE a furniture company. I have used Seamans a few times and they aren't too bad... but they aren't spectacular either.

There is no 'pain and suffering' charges in this case. The best thing to do is just sever ties... and cut your losses (which really aren't any losses - its just furniture).

Sorry to say that I agree 100%...why bother with all this stress and aggrevation?? Get your $$ back...do you really want the couch from there now? Continue to do your damage to their reputation while in the meantime getting a couch you want!

LOL.... so dealing with a company that is obviously screwing you around is the better option?
Let me give you some HONEST advice here.
You chose the company. If this place had so many BBB reports... you probably should have checked it out before you gave them money. Or perhaps you should have refused the couch when they sent you the wrong one... instead of accepting something you didn't ordered.
But hey... we all can fall victim to stuff like this. Ive made plenty of dumb decisions in the past myself.
And i'm sorry for your bad experience... but you also could have made some better choices in the matter yourself.
Slandering them in your website (whether its justified or not)... will just cause them to screw around with you even more or flat out ignore you. They already have your cash so they don't give a crap at this point. Why don't you do something to get your cash back?
Cut your ties and move on. Why don't you just go to Seamans and see if they have any couches 'in stock'. If they have something in stock, they can probably get it to you in a week.
I can't believe you totally trash this company... yet you want to continue to do business with them. Baffles my mind to no end.
