UPDATE! Beware of Carlisle Furniture in Carle Place

On August 28, 2004 my husband and I made one of the worst decisions of our life by ordering a couch from Carlisle Furniture in Carle Place, NY. Our salesman, Frank Hartman, told us that it would be delivered within eight weeks, however, as of February 1, 2005 we have yet to receive our couch. Frank does not return our phone calls, nor does he offer any explanation on what has happened. Carlisle Furniture has not offered any reimbursement. They have not even offered an apology.

Don't make the same mistake we did. Do not buy anything from Carlisle Furniture!

Wow, I wish I knew as much as you do, djpill! Did you read the entire story? Apparently not. Read it again and you'll see that we ended up with the upper hand, so they had incentive to give us what we wanted.

Anyway, we finally received the correct piece today, so in the end, I think it worked out to our benefit:

We got a free matching sofa piece ($1000+ value) and we didn't have to give them the $200 that we owed them.

We also exposed a fraudulent company and informed hundreds of consumers on Long Island about Carlisle Furniture's business practices.

But since djpill disagrees with the way we approached this situation... well, hopefully we'll do better next time.
