UPDATE BRIDAL SHOWER!!!! Help me At bottom

So ladies, I have literally called all over. Either places are not booking yet or we are too small of a party for some places.

So here are our options:

1) Go with Fox Hollow, you have to pay in full now. With tax and gratutity its $52 pp. You all know the deal at this place

2) MAINE MAID INN - Same menu as Fox Hollow, $3 cheaper, I know I can get her down probably another $3. It is located in Jericho, so still pretty central. The deposit is only $250. The minimum would be 60, max is 115. You would need to put down $10.

3) Wait till early next year.

Really think about this girls and please remember these points:
- There are no refunds, if you cancel then you need to find a girl to replace your spot. I cannot be taking and giving money left and right. Its not fair to me nor to you.
- Down the road, I might ask each girl to contribute an extra $10 for tipping, decorations, games, etc. Put that in your budget.
- Plus we need to purchase a registry gift for a bride to be.

PLEASE take the poll and let me know.

JMO - I think Maine Maid Inn is a better option for us. We all only have to give $10. Its an adorable place.

I think the Inn sounds better because we are not locked into such a big deposit at once and it will be easier to collect $10 from each person now and add more people as it gets closer-JMO

I would be fine with giving you a deposit now and I was going to tell you that, everyone should realize that what you pay is non refundable. .

I think the Maine Maid might be a better choice over the fox hollow.

i voted wait til early 2009 to do anything.. i know it would be good to lock in a price but what are we talking maybe 5 dollars more per person??? and once you throw around we a members of LIW.. im sure we can get a good price.
i think we should wait til it gets closer and til we have more brides. JMHO

I've been using the line 'LIW brides' like its going out of style. Especially if I know a few brides are getting married there, I am sure to mention that as well. Anything for a discount!

I'm cool w/ the Inn... at least we don't have to give as large of a deposit. I am sure we will grow to 60 girls from now until then... otherwise like we said we could bring MOH's, mothers, etc.

I voted to wait until early '09. I'm sure that we'll find a place no problem, even if these 2 places book up. That way we'll have a better idea of how many people we're really dealing with.

I say wait till early 2009 because theres going to be more brides on here and also everyone will be able to know there schedules better.

I will say this - I do think it would be better to put our deposit down now, so way that part is completely out of the way.

i say wait Miss Christine. You never know what can happen a 'year' from now. Plus, 60 is even hard right now b/c we don't have it. If it does go up a little (which we know it will) who cares...it won't be by much

I think we should wait. Even if we don't wait until early 2009, at least until closer til the end of this year. We may be able to find a place with a better rate than we can get now (a place that will be booking then). Also, we'll more than likely have more girls by then.

my concern with waiting till early 2009 is a lot of places may be booked with weddings or other showers or stuff. If they can book a wedding for more money, even in the smaller rooms, the places will.

As much as I like FH, the Miler Place Inn sounds good, the lower price, and convenient location in the middle may work well for us

Maine Maid Inn is practically in my backyard... so I've been several times. I went for Easter last year it was good.

That said, you want to book now, I'll pay now... you want to book in 2009 that's fine too. I think it's OK to wait. In all seriousness, people plan weddings in less than 6 months so finding one open Saturday or Sunday afternoon in October of 2009 for the Maine Maid Inn won't be hard.

If places aren't booking now, chances are that's because they know they'll be available during that time, not necessarily because the price will go up astronomically.

ok i changed my mind... i vote.. just book it.. we are all definites.. if we dont have enough people we can always invite moms or mohs so if we know what we all want.. why wait???

i think it might be better to lock in a place and price now, so we are not having to do such a big search this time next year, when we are all big into our own wedding plans-again JMO
