the original symptoms you stated.. being tired after simple exertion... thats what my first thought was, fluid around the heart.. i think its called congestive heart failure.. my grandfather had it.. he had the surgery and he was 100% better after recovery.. i believe it is rather common. Good luck and I will be praying for you and your FH's family... let us know how everything goes...

I don't have a gall bladder...I had it removed at age 15...no female in my family has lived comfortably with it so we've all had it taken out. The pain is unbearable and the post-op is not so much fun either...it takes a long time to adjust to digesting fats again post-surgery.
All in all, it *****....but FM me w/?s....as I said, I'm from a gallbladder-less family!
